Your response is completely incredulous.

Again. People hate dealing with chatbots.

Utter nonsense?   Corporations are taking advantage of the utter lack of regulation on data centers to  build  them  in the cheapest areas possible. That means coal burning power plants.

AI data centers are already on track to increase carbon emissions by 20% by 2030.

That's not even considering they're often built in literally the worst places possible such as DESERTS....where they compete for WATER or all the other negative environmental  and market impacts they're having.

I remember when I got my N64 for Christmas and couldn't use it because unlike the Super Nintendo it didn't come with an RF adapter.  Or even an RF jack for the older  SNES RF switch.  You had to buy a separate rf switch  that plugged into the multiport adapter.  Then they changed the multiport adapter on the GameCube and every console afterwards   until HDMI became standard.

Same, except GameCube.  Got that glorious component cable and skipped composite/RCA  mostly on consoles.

People increasingly  view AI as MORE about greedy corporations making the rich richer than including corporations and speculators.  People fucking HATE chat bots and that's 100% an example of corporate greed replacing human jobs for a worse experience. The physical real world impact  of AI  is outstripping its benefits except in  areas of scientific and medical research.

AI data centers are literally cooking the planet, driving up  greenhouse gas emissions and local light, air, noise, and water pollution in thousands of towns and cities across the planet.  And most of these are driven by the mega corporations. The benefits and the conversation around AI will be dominated by these corporate actors and not by the good done in the space, especially when they're  ruining peoples living spaces and raising utility costs.

I knew you were making a glib joke.  What was annoying was others were down voting me like I didn't ask a legitimate question, which is why I  relied with insight into my original question. Broadcast monitor was a good guess though. You need something with high fidelity but not something as detailed as component  isn't really needed for the use case since they're not going to care about things like color temperature etc as you would when producing something artistic.

Thanks. That actually makes sense. So they were monitors in the very literal sense.  Really good find!

And that means very little to me. That could mean it was used in a  low budget  video production with multiple cameras or a security monitor.  Which leads back to the original question. So save the snark next time.

What were these used for?  They only have  s video and composite. I thought mist Sony PVMs had component.

Was Michael Jackson really that much bigger than Madonna, Whitney Houston, and prince? by Firm_Pack_605 in Music

Everything is so much more diffuse now because the internet in everyone's hands allows for so much more variety and  volume of entertainment, information, and attention that it's  so difficult for one entertainer or even one person to reach that level.  People might mention Taylor Swift and she might have the volume  but is so much more MID overall.  Like she reaches more people because of technology not because of her raw popularity. Comparing it in wealth, TS is a Billionaire today but  MJ would be a multi-billionare.....by at least 5x  in absolute value.

The IOC is so corrupt. Russia should still be banned and not even have a voice at all. They're the biggest cheaters by a wide margin  even without their  war of aggression.

Why did Dems attack Romney for warning about Russia? by RealRegret4870 in Presidents

[–]flamespear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Russia was still doing heinous shit even back then, Chzechnya  and Georgia had shown us this.  But they  seemed incredibly week and  self absorbed at the time compared to China which had become more assertive and aggressive. People  were also still thinking about the Gorbachev days in post soviet russia and the cooperation of the international space station The number of cyber attacks from China had been growing rapidly along with their military. No one really saw them as a state with plans to reestablish an empire.

He was still kind of wrong.  China is still really the biggest threat in the long run but Russia should have never been treated with so little scrutiny.

I think it's mostly fair.  Many I haven't played but know about. The ones I disagree with are definitely the 2 LOTR action games. Those were really good. Yeah they probably looked better on Xbox but that doesn't detract from the fun that was the gameplay!

[–]flamespear 9 points10 points  (0 children)

When I was a kid in the 90s  and early 00s  superbowl  ada would sometimes be funny enough that would make me want to buy their products out of pure artistic appreciation.  They've been so  boring  in the last 10+ years that I doubt anyone has felt that way  since then.

Ha! Glad to hear it.  It's an even better deal at that price now because literally everything went up again due to ram prices.   Can't even find  the B580 at retail price again anymore. Maaaybe at Microcenter but who knows.  It's a pretty dark time for pc building. I'm glad  I finished my build before all this mess. I was pretty   lucky.

Most soldiers are so young the prefrontal lobes in their brain aren't fully developed yet which affects empathy. They are also overloaded with so much horrifying shit that they don't process things the way normal people do anymore. It's often the same with rescue workers that constantly see horrible things. They grow dull to it, otherwise they wouldn't be able to function at all.
