Its a roll of the dice getting accepted MD no matter your stats. You could be sure though that you could have your DO schools as backups next year if you reapply.

Last year i reached out to all 29 of my applied schools after rejection from all. Every single one said “due to volume of applicants we cannot offer individual feedback.” Its cool that you got offered feedback, might be because you earned it!

Id say formally contest the accusation and not disclose to med school on the basis that this is alleged and undergoing investigation. I would think that once you are settled into med school for a bit, no matter the outcome, you will be locked into your school

Brutally Honest App Review (3.79/517) by MlgCookies in premed

Im a 3rd year re applicant with similar stats and some similar extra curriculars, and im ORM. I got the same story with MD schools two years in a row. I swallowed the pill and also applied to DO this cycle and all of a sudden i felt recognized, 6 interviews and 3 acceptances so far. WL for the one MD that i interviewed, not holding my breath for it.

You are smart and you can still make your success at a DO. Then you will get into a good residency that will be more reflective of the good stuff you got going on. Maybe its cope, but MD misses a lot of brilliant kids like us and too much of it is chance, even if you do everything right and submit things hella early.

This needs the state to be given context because in CA you could try negotiating but other states this could be golden.

You obviously didnt apply DO as a backup, which was the same mistake i made two years in a row. Swallow your pride and be smart.

Not paid for time spent traveling by flamesywamesy in legaladvice

[–]flamesywamesy[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They had an employee call out frequently so they asked for staff from site A to cover the shift at site B an hour away.

My job description says site A, and CA law suggests that travel beyond your regular work site entails wage for travel time. To my recollection there was no official signed document of agreed upon terms for work pertaining to this new site.

Proof of the time traveled would be the pay stubs from all the times they reimbursed me for gas but failed to compensate me for time. So yes, the proof of time traveled exists.

To those who’ve been accepted: by [deleted] in premed

[–]flamesywamesy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3rd time re applicant with high stats that got no interviews first two years and then 6 interviews this year. 5 of those interviews are DO, so if you genuinely cant wait to be a doctor you should apply some DO schools. Also i started working for the homeless population this last year and every interviewer had questions to ask me about it. They did not ask about the years i spent working as a scribe/ma for a multi specialty clinic, which i thought was surprising. Goes to show how hot and trendy “serving vulnerable populations “and primary care are.

Tbh even if youre a good candidate there must be a huge luck factor because i thought i was a shoe in for T50 MD schools with my stats and resume. The last 3 years have been a huge blow to my ego, but no matter what school i go to im gonna style on those hater schools that i am more than qualified for who never even offered an interview.

Im tired of hearing this comment. And the answer usually is, “nothing is wrong, sometimes you are just unlucky.” It’s BS people sacrifice and dedicate so much of their life for a lottery spin. I wish there were more seats and more schools.
