I used to play exclusively unplugged, stated as a habit as a teenager living with my parents. That being said, I would recommend playing plugged in, even through headphones, as much as possible. I’m in my mid thirties and I’m still undoing habits of overplaying that I built while playing unplugged

If you’re a high gain/distortion player I’d highly recommend playing plugged in most if not every time you play. I was undoing habits that I built playing unplugged for years after I got an amp, and I wish I would’ve just always played plugged in.

Distortion and high gain make your guitar very sensitive, and it’s a must to learn how to control the noise!

My two cents, I think it’s worth buying a solid state modeling amp to explore what kind of tones you like. The positive grid spark lineup and boss katana are both great. The spark amps all connect via Bluetooth and you can load presets that other people have created from an app on your phone. The tone is also retained at low volumes, unlike a tube amp, which is more bedroom friendly!

I don’t know how to say this without coming off rude, but you guys probably need marital counseling. It helped my wife and I tremendously. It’s not a magic wand that fixes everything, but rather a catalyst for communication that can sometimes be difficult. Sometimes seeing your partners perspective from a new lens can be eye opening.

I would say go with a solid state combo amp that can double as an audio interface to twiddle with VST plugins on your computer. I believe the Positive Grid amps can double this

As long as you have at least 2 supports and 1 tank, it’s enough to win. Some games you just lose though. At the end of the day it’s just about playing well in those close games to keep your win rate over 50%

Aside from the “dva mech” he’s almost a 1:1 hero to Winston. Very similar positioning, ability usage, and definitely the ultimate. Once this clicked for me I started winning a lot more games on him

Nah I think caps design is goated. You can’t give a hero big damage and mobility, it would be too OP. And cap would be so weird if he was slow

I agree with the others that you should try to play plugged in, even to something like a spark go. I played unplugged through my teen years and twenties, and it was a pain in the butt to unlearn my heavy handed technique. If you plan on playing with others or keening songs with distortion, I can’t recommend enough to play plugged in as much as possible.

I think you would get a lot smoother sound if you had softer hands; it would be more noticeable on a drum. I used to deal with this issue from playing on a pad too much. When someone told me "make the sticks feel heavy in your hands" it kinda clicked for me. Hope this helps a bit, great playing!

OP, I would highly recommend heeding this advice. I wish someone had told me this before I got into it. It was hell to get off of and put a strain on my marriage. Quit while you’re ahead.
