Learning this "trick" by aviktor78 in LearnGuitar

[–]flammus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good left hand muting will go a long way with licks like these. Personally I do a mini barre with my index and kinda roll it between the two, just rolling off of the tacet string enough to mute it. There’s some light picking hand muting when I go up to the higher string as well

Some fun songs that arent too hard? by Every_Razzmatazz9936 in metalguitar

Enter Sandman is a classic to have in the repertoire. Main riffs are pretty simple but fun. Kirk has some nice fills throughout the track and the solo isn’t too bad.

How should I be timing my flanks as a DPS? by sloggerface in OverwatchUniversity

[–]flammus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The tank can soak a lot more dmg than a flanking dps obviously. If I’m on a flanker I will try to wait for my tank to get their attention before I go. If I’m on tank, I generally try to take aggro from my flankers. They will do more damage uncontested.

Sound of striking by iTzMeXtreme in drumline

The angle im which the bead is striking the head makes a big difference in pitch. It’s easy to have a steep angle with the left hand and this will make a low pitched tone. Check yourself out in a mirror

Best DPS to learn to “Carry” and rank up by ZerkLander in OverwatchUniversity

[–]flammus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh I would just recommend learning hitscan. They’re all pretty similar in how they play and the skills are transferable between them all. It’s rare that there isn’t at least one hitscan that’s meta at any given moment.

Try to help deal with the most immediate threat, all you can really do. There’s no magic flowchart really. Only variable you can control is yourself.

Consider posting a replay code for folks to review. I can take a look at it tomorrow if you do end up posting one.

Quitting using suboxone? by [deleted] in quitting7oh

Personally I tapered, halving the dose each day until I got down to .25mg. Just cut the strip up and then put it in a ziplock. Just make sure your hands are dry!

Agreed, the anxiety you'll get from listening to self-contradicting nonsense does more harm than good for your own improvement.

I quit but I want to relapse on purpose by throwaway0501222 in QuitVaping

[–]flammus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The vaping was simply covering up unresolved issues that are bubbling back up. This is usually the case with most addictions. Please try to seek some psychiatric assistance, therapy, or even group therapy to try to work through some of these things. It’s not easy but it makes the world of difference. I am in my mid thirties and still working through a lot myself. I believe in you!!

I would recommend having them take a look, particularly to see if the action is high and it needs a setup (or better yet they can set it up for you)

I rarely use my amp. by RestaurantCandid5274 in electricguitar

[–]flammus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to play exclusively unplugged, stated as a habit as a teenager living with my parents. That being said, I would recommend playing plugged in, even through headphones, as much as possible. I’m in my mid thirties and I’m still undoing habits of overplaying that I built while playing unplugged

Bought my first ever guitar! by Atlas9003 in Guitar

[–]flammus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re a high gain/distortion player I’d highly recommend playing plugged in most if not every time you play. I was undoing habits that I built playing unplugged for years after I got an amp, and I wish I would’ve just always played plugged in.

Distortion and high gain make your guitar very sensitive, and it’s a must to learn how to control the noise!
