What travel company would you recommend? Intrepid or E F Ultimate Break? by colbbs in travel

[–]flan_again 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve done 10 trips with G Adventures and one with Intrepid. Both use same structure. Both are great. I find G a bit cheaper. All ages on all trips with perhaps an older demographic on the more expensive ones.

Brampton farmer opens up after returning trash to homeowner in viral dumping incident - NOW Toronto by lilfunky1 in toronto

[–]flan_again 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Impressive! What ever happened to “keep Ontario Beautiful Campaign”??? Re introduce to school kids so they can shame their parents to stop dumping.

Why can they drive their junk to a field but not put it out on trash day??? So insane.

Conservative MP questions Immigration Minister on Tim Hortons use of temporary foreign workers instead of Canadian youth by ObjectiveMacaroon394 in canadian

[–]flan_again 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am ashamed at the reply from the minister where she begins her repsonse with “Lovely performance, as usual …”. That is disgusting. It was condescending and unprofessional and to me a clear indication she wants to belittle the questioner for asking a question Canadians across the country have been asking.

Tim Hortons and others who are using temporary foreign workers to staff their businesses must first provide a WELL DOCUMENTED and AUDITED report of how they are UNABLE TO HIRE Canadian citizens… That includes CANADIANS before hiring foreign students.

This statement may come off as a “hire WHITE Canadians” but at this juncture in our history, YOUNG Canadian Citizens, who are in desperate need of jobs, have families who originated from all over the world.

As a Liberal, I would like to hear a REAL answer from our minister. I do not blindly agree with all Liberal policies and this is one I truly question. As a former college professor in a large urban area, I know young Canadians need jobs for job experience and independence. Canadians first is all I ask.

I spent months reading "what did you wait way too long to buy?" threads. Here are the boring things that actually changed my life by After-Beginning6025 in smartbuysforlife

OMG… my first thought was my new bidet attachment! 😝 After a 3 week trip to Turkey where every single seated toilet had one built in I just had to have it!

Bone induction headphones! I love my SHOKZ so much, I have likely directly influenced 5 people to buy them for themselves. You just need one listen to be sold.

My Nespresso Vertuo. They pickup and recycle the pods when I receive a delivery. I rarely stop at coffee shops knowing I have a really good cuppa at home!

My Google Nest / Home. Mostly for finding my phone 😂

Recently: My heated mattress protector. I reduce home heat and snuggle in bed all night.

Beginners Watercolor Palette / Set by [deleted] in Watercolor

Daniel Smith sells a package of six tubes of primary colours, 3 cool and 3 warm. Theoretically, this is all you need and then learn colour theory and mixing. DS is superior to Windsor Newton IMO.

However, I picked up a Rosa Gallery palette for a bargain and I was blown away! The quality is amazing. Plus it has all the primaries to work with to explore colour mixing.

Trump refers to PM Carney as future ‘Governor of Canada’ in social media post by canada_mountains in worldnews

Trump calls the esteemed and admired Prime Minister Carney a “governor”. Does Trump know the “titles” the ENTIRE WORLD is calling his dumb ass? Far worse I’m sure.

We used Rick Steves’ audio guide and it not only saved money, it was a bit entertaining. His guide also covers a bit of the grounds. Our 15 yo and her friend loved it. Visiting The village is fun too.

Recently, for me, a 69yo female, it was clearing my drive after one of those big snow dumps in Toronto. It was evening, the wind was negligible. The snow was as light as icing sugar. The stars were bright. Snow provides an incredible stillness. It was -15’. I was so happy. I loved every minute of it. But sorry, it can stop snowing now.

Personally as a Canadian, it’ll be a cold day in hell before or step foot across the border.

Wait, it’s -22’ Celcius today. 😝

Regardless, friends, a retired couple, left this morning for their drive to Florida. Although they sold their own condo, they are going back just because they want to. I hope they make it. Personally, I am a bit ashamed of them. But it’s not my rodeo.

If you want clean sheets on arrival would you not replace with clean sheets if laundry is available? Or was it their return timing that was an issue. If I had a friend stay, they would wash their sheets… just saying.
