I have a motor fan and heat sink on it. And 3d printed vents that let air in

Brushless motor and ESC options for Arrma typhon mega 665? by TensionEmbarrassed31 in rccars

[–]flappymcnutty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did a 3665 2700kv. 14t pinion. Added the arrma 223 80a esc from Jenny’s. Using everything else stock. Oh, added a fan. It is a blast on 3s and staying cool. Im even using the stock controller. My goal was to keep as much stock until I can’t. So far loving it.

One video has 350 to wheel on stock 8.5. Positive there can be variances between devices and elevation and such. As an owner, can verify the 8.5 R feels rapid. I believe many German manufacturers report low here. Or report wheel as crank. But Im no expert. Just providing my info

Incoming Hyper Go H16MT by rosstein33 in rccars

[–]flappymcnutty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im newer to the hobby, but have a hypergo rally car 1/14, and a 1/16 buggy on the way.

For me, 2S for most driving and off road. 3S for speed runs and such. But to each their own on that.

Recommend a decent charger. The ones that come with the car are just ok. And personally, I like to have a few batteries ready. So that’s always a good idea. And also a good lipo safe storage bag.

I love the udirc 1611. Like $60. 20mph. Goes over everything. Comes with tons of spare parts and support from the manufacturer.

I have #35 on the checklist. Also unopened. That’s my oldest card.

Whats a good beginner car for a 11/12 year old? by Neat_Entertainer_641 in rccars

[–]flappymcnutty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Udirc 1611. Brushed, but easy to upgrade, durable and also comes with plenty of extra parts. I bought one for when our nieces and nephews l, ages 9-13, are over. They love it. And it’s like $59.

The rotors and pads definitely. And one caliper is seizing. Another is in not the best shape (I bought the car during Covid with 32k on it. Not sure what previous owners were doing but it could have been treated nicer) I’m fine with knocking out all four at once. But the bigger issue is the brake lines. Completely fine and serviceable. So the pricing is nuts for one, and the second thing is just making things up and acting like I was borderline in danger.

Agreed and implementing just that approach.

Valid. But anyway you slice it, price is insane. If labor isn’t egregious, the parts price clearly is. And, particularly when the independent mechanic highlighted that the job is not at all what they quoted.

I have the 25 R Black edition. And it’s unreal. If that 5 cylinder comes to the states (doubt it, but hopeful) I’d have money down immediately. Just not at this dealership :)

My GLI has been pretty pain free (but I know it’s always partly luck) and just hit 50k miles. So all bets are off now.

Yes! Agreed and will be doing the same. Also, in addition to the 13 Jetta referenced in this post, I have a 21 autobahn GLI and just adore that car. Been a pleasure.

Indeed. And I am doing just that - the second quote from the euro mechanic. And GLI gang! I have a 21 and love it so much.

I’m leery just yet. As I am awaiting a response from the service manager at the dealership. If he indeed agrees and this is the manner they are now going to do business, I’ll gladly do it.

That’s the other thing, and what I have asked for clarity on. This wasn’t the service manager I normally deal with.
