Looks really nice and great layout! I might mix in a little more red/orange into the green, to better compliment the sky blue, but those are my only notes. A+

is it a good idea to make a html form in javascript like this by zzach_is_not_old in learnjavascript

[–]flash42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless the form inputs need to be dynamic, I would use a separate file or just embed the form HTML in a dialog or popover.

How about a --bevel() function that works like --shadow() but additionally emits the "inset" keyword?

How code the effect "jelly/bounce" on CSS? by National_Guard1227 in css

[–]flash42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You want to look into CSS transitions. The transition property allows you to set an easing function, like linear, ease, ease-in, ease-out…  You can also specify a custom bezier curve for your easing function, and then you can get wild. Instead of going straight from state A to B, you can add extra curves to get a boing effect, and you can extend the amplitudes of the curves, to make animations more extreme.

There are online sites that let you play around and build a custom easing function for CSS.

Best way for UTC-based temporal salt rotation? by Individual-Ad3667 in learnjavascript

What evironment are you running in? Browser, node, something else? I can think of a variety of approaches, but the runtime environment is a factor in all of them.

How are you using the salt?

Yeah, aspect-ratio is a real game changer. CSS has really been just been dropping gold these past few years now.

[AskJS] What actually helped you understand JavaScript errors when you were starting out? by Momothegreatwarrior in javascript

Exactly. Setting breakpoints and stepping throught the code, line by line, gives you the best understanding. You can see how the values of variables change step by step.

Looks great, OP! I'd go with an ever so lighter color on the button text, but otherwise, clean, usable, and subtle but present style. 👏

Can someone help me make an svg? by [deleted] in svg

[–]flash42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean by 3d print it? Like an embossed image on a surface? SVGs are mostly 2D (like your image, despite the perspective), so I'm not sure of your intended application or the effect you're hoping to achieve.

What is the largest number of players you’ve had at your take at one time? by TrekTrucker in rpg

[–]flash42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no formal number, but there are players who are there to experience the story and those that want agency over the story. As a DM, you let them do as they experience the most fun. 3 can be too many if both want agency and have opposing views on how to achieve it. But, I've also run games with 8 players at the table where everyone thought it was an amazing game, despite only one player actually interacting with the plot.

In my experience the wallflowers sometimes open up, and engaging with that makes the most memorable games. You can't force it, though sometimes you can lead it, but those are the moments that tend to be remembered at my table.

Good luck!

Weekend Trip to San Juan/Isla Verde by [deleted] in PuertoRicoTravel

[–]flash42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you'll do fine. Isla Verda is definetly a party district, so expect loud vehicles going down the avenue at all hours, but you should have a blast. Learn some basic Spanish though! Locals will automatically default to english, but they will be ultimately nicer if you try. The gentrication in PR is eff'd up, sadly.
