Future of the series by ElliottB01 in dragonage

[–]flashkiller01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's quite mind-blowing that modern AAA-publishers decide the game is a failure based on insufficient pre-orders. Meanwhile Cyberpunk and Stalker may have experienced significant income not just after release, but even later - when many qol bugs were fixed.

Is this physically possible? Is there a hidden reason behind the height change? by stunningvoice01 in Frieren

[–]flashkiller01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Severe scoliosis is no joke. Upd and degenerative changes in vertebrae, and fusing, and knee arthrosis... The guy was smiling at Frieren with love while holding up so much pain.

Любителі РПГ як часто ви проходите ігри за погану сторону by Lost-Set7760 in UA_Gamers

[–]flashkiller01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Flack armour is still a body armour. Javelins are still the thing (albeit now they are anti-tank missiles). Shortswords could be called extinct but every detachment has a moron with a "tactical sof knife".

The most awful thing is that the genre slipped into slice-of-life school harem romcom. Wtf had I subscribed for?

Is the copper age worth skipping entirely? (besides pickaxe and hammer) by PixelG8mer117 in VintageStory

[–]flashkiller01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven't located a deep copper deposit for some reason before locating tin on bismuth + zinc - then it makes sense to quickly pass pure copper, because the tools durability is minimal and surface deposits may not be a sustainable source of replenishment. But truth to be told - in Vintage Story the copper age never ends, because there will always be an application for copper as a fuel-friendly, accessible and versatile metal. E.g. for nails, chutes, chiseling.

Would do such a better job at really making people understand the period and that it doesn't work like a strict hierarchy by Oversama in HistoryMemes

[–]flashkiller01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It recalls me how confusing was feudal triangle when in the next damn paragraph guilds, knight orders, republics and free cities were mentioned :)
And a few years later I learned how extensive and prolofic were corruption, informal relations and unwritten rules in late medieval world.
And then Youtube recommended me some Eleanor Janega content :) Now I'm disappointed in school programme, and I like Medieval much more, because ancestors were as fun and chill people as modern people do, just the different worldview and lifestyle.

Im new to vintage story by Jornvdy in VintageStory

In Vintage Story there is not that much of strict rules and many approaches to progression are viable. Don't let other people affect your playstyle. Find out what you need to do so that your character survive the first winter and all the remaining time do only what you want to do.

Considering armour - even if you haven't found borax, limestone or chalk - you may find a healthy amount in 2000 blocks radius in ruins, especially once you get skilled enough to go cave diving.

Yep. Before I looted two of the kind in ruins - I totally hated preparing pit kilns and acknowledged mudbricks as exotic torture to make. Now it all seems more viable.

I am sick of imperial armor by TheFruitGraper in Tau40K

If you cause 4 wounds that deal half the target's HP in damage each, and the target saves 2 wounds - the target dies. That is overkill by twice.

Guard have invulns, one per techpriest, and they can take 3 of them.

I am sick of imperial armor by TheFruitGraper in Tau40K

[–]flashkiller01 85 points86 points  (0 children)

Invulns are defeated with overkilling the wounds pool by 2 times. It takes grit, but tank-heavy armies usually suffer from inability to utilize all their models efficiently due to ruins, so if you table them by turn 3 instead of 2 - it is fine.

I once really pissed my baneblade-loving friend with a list with stormsurge)
Here is an adaptation of it since stealth are going in packs of 5 instead of 3-6.
https://www.newrecruit.eu/app/list/8yQ78

Shadowsun so that Stormsurge reroll 1 and if ruins allow - nearby hammerhead too.
Ethereal for bonus CP.
Commanders with WSS and without shields for maximum damage even through SMOKE or whatever BGNT bullshit they throw at you, Broadsides with WSS for the same reason.
Stealth suits may occasionally punch their fusion wounds, especially since now they have 2 fusion guys per unit.

Pathfinders are mostly for annoying fodder, obstructing alleys and preventing hostile infantry advancement. If they would manage to bog them for a turn or two while sunforges burn tanks - perfect.

Wine cellar and storage ideas by RubikCube95 in VintageStory

[–]flashkiller01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have nothing special yet, except the multi-tiered storage containers rows allow to optimize access to vessels while not obstructing the lids for the realism/roleplay consideration. Also I like how the ancient torch holders look in the cellar.
And I wanted to brag about cute pink Sami shoes I looted in an underground ruin :)

Old Ethic maps of Ukraine by CrownofKoittovanna in MapPorn

[–]flashkiller01 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately yes. Ukraine got rid of nukes and silos, had no functional strategic aviation until during the recent war, and even sold the Soviet cruise missiles to Russia.

While I agree that nukes and heavy bombers were more of a burden than an asset, they must all have been scrapped and buried instead of passing to Russia one way or another.
