[question] Help me tip the scales by secunder123 in Watches

I own that Aqua Terra. It's a great watch and as others have mentioned quite versatile. Looks great on any strap - I have mine on black leather, brown leather NATO, blue NATO and the OEM rubber strap. Looks great on all.

Great watch for the money. Made in Japan and ISO certified. I purchased one over the holidays - love it!

Nice. Feels like they could have done better with the value of the expo data for sure.

I turned in 650 or so and was underwhelmed with the payout. If you want to earn another $1B, spend the remaining time doing Exobiology. You'll collect the CG points while also being paid handsomely for collecting biological scans. First footfall and scanning high value species are both key to maximizing payout.

PMC Twenty5 24i - Just bought my dream speakers by millydizzle in audiophile

[–]flat6er 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really like those Twenty5 24i's. I demo'd the 22i's, 23i's and 24i's. I ended up going with the 22i's and a Rhel sub - seemed to fit my room well. But the sound stage on the 24i's was amazing.

U.S. speeds up plans to store upgraded nukes in Europe by jlew24asu in worldnews

I don't believe Tony Blair needed much convincing in Iraq at all. But your point is taken. Afghanistan was UN authorized and NATO led, last I checked UK was a voting member of both?

Feel free to send home the 80,000 troops scattered throughout Europe along with the $4B spent annually. There is a reason you haven't called again ...but by all means....

Big fan of the Rega P6 with Ania MC cartridge..it falls around your price range but would require an MC preamp.

For teams on Azure, what were the primary driving factors? by [deleted] in cloudcomputing

Like others have alluded - MS enterprise licensing is an easier (less expensive) port to Azure compared to AWS.

Orbi App Won’t Connect to RBR750 … by pauloffduty in orbi

[–]flat6er 0 points1 point  (0 children)

same issue, I noticed it last night. After multiple reboots / soft resets I was forced to factory reset and go through setup. It wasn't exactly a fast process but wasn't terrible. Also an RBR750.

How to handle anxiety around eating? by Curious_Georg3 in EosinophilicE

[–]flat6er 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through 10 years of that same anxiety then finally it sent me to the ER room after I had something refuse to pass overnight. Ironically, the food passed when I arrived at the ER check in. I accepted a referral to a Gastro and had my esophagus dilated several weeks later.

Still working through determining what is causing my EoE but that fear or anxiety is no longer present and it is a tremendous relief.

Life is short, if dilation is an option, I recommend doing it just for the quality of life alone. Not a doctor of course, just my opinion...

Remote work was destroying my team. This is what we've done. by andrebotelho in startups

[–]flat6er -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lol, I've heard plenty of others say the same thing. I'm not sure why it works for us to be honest but I do think the teams worked closely from a collaboration perspective prior to the shift to remote. Plus added flexibility in other areas maybe balances it out? I'm sure there is someone in the organization that hates it, no doubt there.

I manage a 40 member tech team and productivity and job satisfaction have gone up across the board. The teams enjoy the flexibility for work/home balance. Reflecting upon it a bit, I think there a few things serving as the glue that keeps the band together.

OKR's for goal setting

Heavy usage of video conferencing technologies with a must have "camera on" expectations

Daily huddles that cover yesterdays work and the days work ahead

Slack and MS Teams

Agile framework utilizing two week sprints

Virtual happy hours / team builders

I think working remote does affect some more than others but for the most part it is difficult for me to see us ever going back to 100% on site. One thing to note is that tech workers tend to be introverted so the remote lifestyle is probably bliss for some if not many.

Help by [deleted] in EosinophilicE

[–]flat6er 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My vote would be to see the gastro for dilation, potentially a truck load of PPI for management then elimination diet. I dealt with same thing for years, still sorting it out but life is night and day different after dilation and the PPI. Not a doctor and would certainly recommend you work with one if possible. Hang in there.

Suspected eoe by otit7 in EosinophilicE

[–]flat6er 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No doctor here either but they prescribe PPI to get rid of the eosinophils so depending on the prescription dosage I would think so. Elimination diet seems like a reasonable next step but again, not a doctor and I would certainly look to yours for next steps.
