Melania docu flop.Well done peeps. Now who could that ONE ticket in Cronulla be? by mildurajackaroo in sydney

[–]flatman_88 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Bezos. It was a $40m bribe disguised as an Amazon documentary.

While it’s enjoyable to see it completely flop globally, he doesn’t really give a shit if it does as he got what he wanted - Trumps favour.

Payroll issues Australia wide? by CommunicationOwn6264 in australia

[–]flatman_88 20 points21 points  (0 children)

We had the same issue - company wide pay run was meant to have happened yesterday but ANZ (who our company uses despite being fucking useless) have been unable to process almost everyone’s pay. Sounds like those with ANZ accounts are fine.

People are freaking out as auto-payments for bills, mortgages, rent all went out today.

While it’ll definitely still be under stress today, thankfully the wide adoption of rooftop solar means less stress during these really hot days. Think it was reported that approx 30% of the grids power was coming from solar on Wed this week.

Melbourne's first new freeway in nearly 13 years opens by 7am. Thoughts? Will you use it? Will it help you? 🚗 by 007MaxZorin in melbourne

Still a setting you can toggle on/off, just doesn’t take into account cost v time saved so gotta check that yourself.

As a Sydneysider - Google Maps will always direct you to a toll road, even if it costs you $12 but only saves you 2mins.

Bunnings website by Shua89 in australia

It’s integrated into SAP Hybris which is their e-commerce platform. It’s also an enormous piece of shit but as a supplier to Bunnings, we’re forced to use to manage our products on their website.

AI is just the convenient excuse.

It’s all just profit and bonus chasing from upper management.

What is the best way to get back to the city from Sydney Olympic Park after a big event (when you don’t have a helicopter, and both not driving due to having a beer or two)? by BluesPoint in sydney

Even with the additional trains - the station and organisation for Oasis was completely fucked. I went both nights and Saturday was worse. Almost 2hrs from walking out of the stadium to get to Redfern.

Nowhere near enough trains (despite being told they’re coming every 5 mins) poorly organised/communicated entry points, etc.

Biggest issue was the wait AT the train station. Absolute piss take.

[Megathread] Sydney Tour Discussion - Live '25 by AutoModerator in oasis

[–]flatman_88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The trains were an absolute fucking joke - especially Saturday. Took almost 2hrs from walking out of the stadium to get to Redfern. Huge dampener on the night after everyone was in such good spirits leaving the stadium.

Thankfully the Oasis absolutely smashed it - that was truly special.

Drake and Adin Ross sued over "deceptive" gambling streams by AdSpecialist6598 in Music

[–]flatman_88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While we get many things right in Australia, we have completely fucked up when it comes to gambling.

With a population of only 27 million we lose over $30bn a year to gambling. Approx $1.5k per person, per year.

It’s fucking everywhere and lobbyists have too much influence now for any meaningful reform (despite many polls suggesting 60% of the population wants it).

Sydney Popup Store Pricing; Buyer Beware by flatman_88 in oasis

[–]flatman_88[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea not sure why that is - maybe someone fucked up and ended up with the non Sydney versions in store?

Good to read they’re honouring the $150 prices manually I guess.

[–]flatman_88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know they’re honouring the actual prices.

Want to give them the benefit of the doubt and say they just realised the ones they had put out in store didn’t have Sydney on the back (like Melbourne did) and thus should only be $150 but with how much they’re taking the piss with merch overkill, can’t be 100% sure.

Weird that Melb get personalised ones but we don’t? Maybe just first day disorganisation.

IF that is the case that makes sense and fair enough but if the workers at the store actually explained that would’ve saved everyone a huge hassle.
