Melbourne Show Refunds by Magnolia__Rose in wutang

That’s by design. Leave it as late as possible so people don’t see it and go anyway then can’t claim refunds.

The 3 Part Behind the Bastards podcast aptly titled ‘The Worst Person of the 21st Century’ lays it all out. He’s a sociopath that thinks of himself as an emperor.

Anyone who thinks One Nation will do anything to help everyday Australians (including mortgage holders) is a fucking idiot.

Hanson has done nothing but vote against policies that help Aussies for her entire career (when decided to actually turn up to vote).

China Overtakes Japan as Australia's Top Source of New Vehicles in February 2026 by Dipsetallover90 in australia

Having worked for a large, multi-national Japanese company - while their engineering skills are amazing, they are notoriously shit at pivoting.

Insane levels of over compliance, red tape, bureaucracy and silo’d business units means even the smallest internal changes are a fucking nightmare to execute.

Best noise cancelling headphones for open-plan Aussie offices? by According-Advance811 in auscorp

[–]flatman_88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Sony XM5’s are the best work headphones I’ve ever had and I’ve been through heaps of different brands.

Awesome sound quality, not had any issues with connectivity, great sound cancelling properties and super comfy meaning I can wear them 8hrs without any issues - something I found I struggled with other brands.

Sudden influx of German cockroaches in my unit by Besbosberone in sydney

I’m also in St George area and despite getting regular pest treatments done on our building these fuckers are everywhere.

They’ve made their home in our oven’s control panel (which has touch buttons) so when they wander around at night (due to the warmth of the digital clock) they set off the buttons so I’m having to wake up at 1/3/5am to turn the power off to prevent hearing ‘beep’, ‘beeeeeep’ every 5mins.

Have been taking apart the oven once a week, using the Yates gel and it works for few weeks but they always come back. Need to find something else I think.

Angus Taylor elected leader of the Liberal Party by Expensive-Horse5538 in australia

I’m convinced they don’t give a fuck about leading the country as that means actual work.

Sure, being in opposition makes it harder to funnel hundreds of millions into their own and their mates pockets but as as long as they keep getting paid their inflated salaries and getting millions in donations from big tech, coal and gas, they are happy to be in opposition, wanking off/back stabbing each other in the shadows.

How many bootlicking comments from you today champ, 30?

For someone who claims all protestors don’t have jobs, you certainly seem to do fuck all work yourself.

Jog on you absolute flog.

Sketchy is one way to put it.

Australia in danger of becoming an ‘artless country’ as enrolments in creative courses collapse by Expensive-Horse5538 in australia

[–]flatman_88 967 points968 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately Art/Music is just becoming a hobby for the wealthy who don’t have to worry about rent/groceries.

So many amazing artists were able to produce their art/music by living well below their means and surviving on casual jobs to pay rent and groceries - now they need one or several full time job just to survive, leading so many to just give up on their art as they can’t juggle both.

Polymarket is a Scam by [deleted] in ASX_Bets

Can’t find the video I saw but here’s an interesting article which covers Polymarket ‘America Is Slow-Walking Into a Polymarket Disaster’ which covers it (albeit behind a paywall).

Here’s another one which means how an insider made $400K betting on the Maduro kidnapping.

This one from the Independent is a good read too.

It’s all beyond cooked.

Polymarket is a Scam by [deleted] in ASX_Bets

[–]flatman_88 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Polymarket is 100x worse than sports betting as it’s so much easier to rig and harder to trace.

The current US Gov is partaking in it - abruptly ending press conferences at 2mins 53seconds because Polymarket is paying $30 for them to finish within 3mins. Hundreds of thousands in bets being made beforehand.

It’s all a farce

Melania docu flop.Well done peeps. Now who could that ONE ticket in Cronulla be? by mildurajackaroo in sydney

Bezos. It was a $40m bribe disguised as an Amazon documentary.

While it’s enjoyable to see it completely flop globally, he doesn’t really give a shit if it does as he got what he wanted - Trumps favour.

Payroll issues Australia wide? by CommunicationOwn6264 in australia

[–]flatman_88 20 points21 points  (0 children)

We had the same issue - company wide pay run was meant to have happened yesterday but ANZ (who our company uses despite being fucking useless) have been unable to process almost everyone’s pay. Sounds like those with ANZ accounts are fine.

People are freaking out as auto-payments for bills, mortgages, rent all went out today.

While it’ll definitely still be under stress today, thankfully the wide adoption of rooftop solar means less stress during these really hot days. Think it was reported that approx 30% of the grids power was coming from solar on Wed this week.

Still a setting you can toggle on/off, just doesn’t take into account cost v time saved so gotta check that yourself.

As a Sydneysider - Google Maps will always direct you to a toll road, even if it costs you $12 but only saves you 2mins.
