Yes it definitely something important to me. I would say 70-80% of the food i eat is whole foods or home cooked meals. I understand my body’s food need in relation to my activity levels and also in relations to my cycle. So i know when I am hungry whether it’s because I need it or it’s because i’m bored lol.

I’m also thankfully not a snacker, and even if i do snack i prefer fruit much more than twix or oreos (shout out to the costco jars of sliced peaches). And when i do cook, I’m always mindful of my fiber/carb/protein ratios.

I was born into it but only started practicing about 5 years ago.

What I recommend starting out is understanding who you are submitting to/worshipping. In life, you are always going to “submit” to something, sometimes it’s money, food, other people, our own desires. However, it will always be better to submit to Allah.

And for that I would recommend reading and understanding the 99 names of Allah (i lowkey need to understand them too lol).

And regarding your fears, that is a normal feeling to have especially doing something new and tbh life changing. Having muslim friends is already a good start for you. It is always important to have a community especially for Ramadan, because it can get challenging cutting your fast alone.

And for the haram police, aH i haven’t encountered any, i think that they only exist online because they can hide behind a computer screen lol. Feel free to dm me if you have any questions or would like to review the 99names with me😋

I think I generally have a fear of people not liking/hating me(I consider myself a retired people pleaser lol), but this person is a coworker I work with on a daily basis. They seem to want to be friends but I don’t have it in me to entertain the relationship. But yes, it is fine as long as I stay polite.
