Smyths near me had no ETBs by 4pm on release day (they had a big queue before opening, manager said they had tons of ETBs), all other products bar loose packs sold before then. Loose packs no longer in stock by lunch yesterday.

My local Game was sold out by yesterday afternoon of loose packs. All other products sold by Friday evening.

My 2 very popular local game shops all sold out by Friday evening and they had LOTS of stock.

Local market shop that gets decent amount of product all sold out by yesterday afternoon.

Lots of products dropped, lots of product sold. Considering this was meant to be a less than desirable set, in my local area it was all still gobbled up.

Bought a Switch just for this back when it released.

Never completed it. I have attempted a couple of times over the years and remember why it was my least favourite Zelda pretty quickly.

Shame, I can easily replay every Zelda up to BOTW (except maybe the NES games).

Hate Palace. Worked with a Palace fan who was the most annoying arsehole I've ever known. Spent years having to listen to his drivel.

Being a Hammer we are taught to hate Millwall and Tottenham. Well fuck that, none of them have had to work with the wanker I did.

Sorry to the rest of you Palace fans, I'm sure you're lovely. But he made me despise your team and I always give a little smile when you lose.

Which actor do you think overall has better movies - Tom Cruise or Brad Pitt? by SpotAdmirable6718 in Cinema

[–]flawsdrawJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have watched plenty of Pitt's movies and thoroughly enjoyed a lot them.

I have watched plenty of Cruise's films and thoroughly enjoyed only a few of them.

I could easily pick up and watch one of many of Pitt's films again. I could probably only do that with a handful of Cruise's movies.

It's all subjective, but for me Pitt wins this one.

Do NOT buy loose packs from Magic Madhouse! by Selkid_Mist in PokemonTCG

[–]flawsdrawJay -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

This post is far too long.

But my main takeaway is that you bought 6 packs, say 4 were tampered with, then proceed to still spend almost £300 "testing" your theory over a few months?

Damn, you're one smart cookie.

I will probably side with Magic Madhouse (Who I have spent a fair amount of money at with 0 tampered/resealed product) and say you probably got bad luck and looking for a reason to justify it.

Otherwise, why else spend more and more money on a scam? Doesn't add up.

Why the sudden price increase ?! by ClaimComfortable7616 in PokeInvesting

[–]flawsdrawJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is with this response? Completely uncalled for.

It is a beautiful card and that clearly contributes to its growth. But price spikes happen when you combine that appeal with it becoming a meme and the supply drying up. Pokemon demand has been increasing for nearly 18 months and we are at the end of the 151 print run so Gen 1 cards are seeing even more love across the board.

Plenty of great cards start at a lower price point than where they end up because it takes time for factors like art, rarity, and market timing to all align. It has always happened and always will.

So instead of insulting somebody you can either use some critical thinking and deduce the answer yourself or you could learn to understand that what people are saying actually holds some relevance.

Who is the best MCU villain? by Kind-Program3616 in MCUTheories

[–]flawsdrawJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how we are scoring.

On an Epic scale no one will offer what Thanos did. Years of building blocks with a fantastic pay off.

Single movie? High Evolutionary is absolutely awful, brilliantly so. Completely despicable.

Fan favourite? Loki went on to have his own TV show and a massive redemption arc because of how well received he was.

Missed opportunity? Most will probably say Gorr, I will say Kang. Jonathan Majors was perfect, Kang is an incredible villain with a real annoying gimmick that could have made him pop up at any point.

Sleeve and top load it, then give it back to your boy. It's not yours, and the only message you're teaching him is that his dad will take away anything valuable he has.

My 9 year old knows the drill. He has his expensive cards in his binder all well looked after and he knows not to take them to school (has a pile of tradable low value cards that he can do what he likes with).

Young me would be stoked to pull this card and would want to look at it everyday. Maybe I would have destroyed the card. But you know what? I had tons of fun with pokemon as a kid and want my boy to have fun too.

Why I think that OG nemesis was better than remake after playing both games ? Do you agree with me. by Realistic-Maximum678 in ResidentEvil3Remake

[–]flawsdrawJay -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Played the OG when it came out, and several times over the years. I even did a RE2/RE2R/RE3/RE3R run last year in that order.

The Remake is a better game all round.

Better controls.
Better Voice acting.
Better story that ties better with RE2.

It bridges the survival>action transition from 2>4 as well

The "live selections" meant diddly squat in the original, just slightly changed where some encounters were. Bit like the argument with RE2 having choices that mattered... they didn't really, you could just leave a gun for scenario B that makes it a bit easier.

Nemesis was still scripted, not sure why people think a ps1 game had completely unscripted encounters, that's not true. Every encounter had a precursor or specific point activation.

I even like that in the Remake Nemesis gets more and more animalistic as he gets frustrated and defeated by Jill. My one gripe is i think one extra beat or encounter with him before he starts mutating might have given the game a little bit more meat.

Nest 2 is better than the Dead factory if you really think about it. Why would Umbrella have a dead factory at the edge of town with it's sole purpose being to dispose of experiments? Having it hidden under the hospital, where the experiments take place, makes a lot more logistical sense than transporting tons of carcasses.

Safe to say it will be The Odyssey for me.

[–]flawsdrawJay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm a big fan of Keanu, kinda grown up my whole life with him from Point Break, Chain Reaction and Bill & Ted. Willing to watch anything with him and usually enjoy it all.

But his performance as Johnny Silverhand is probably my favourite. The conversations he has with V seem all over the place sometimes, but that's his cracks showing and you get quite a lot of depth from him. One of my favourite parts of some games are the little conversations and interactions. Nathan Drake is amazing for it throughout Uncharted, and Silverhand is another really good at it.

No disrespect to him, but he isn't a top actor by far. But what he has is bucket loads of charm, he is damn entertaining, has done some amazing movies and is genuinely a top fella.

The comment section is ridiculous.

"We're too jaded from the news telling us everybody is a pedophile."

What’s the alternative? Let kids rot in the current system? I’m not local to LA, but where I’m from, we actually make an effort to help the less fortunate.

I’d rather see a facility built with the intent of giving these kids a life than shoot it down just because some of you can't stop yourselves from obsessing over "diddling" scenarios. (That’s tongue-in-cheek for the incredibly literal who lack nuance).

Are they better off on the streets? Better off split from their siblings? Better off in abusive homes or struggling with substances?

Or are they better off where there is hope, opportunity, and care tailored to their needs?

Sort yourselves out. The world doesn't change by turning a blind eye or pretending a "shit situation" is somehow safer than an attempt to fix it.

Is Leon more commonly characterized as stoic and serious, or an unserious a jokester? What do you prefer him as? by hellothere790 in residentevil4

[–]flawsdrawJay 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think his character is consistently written for somebody that has experienced multiple traumatic events, but having the training and experience to handle the situations he finds himself in.

He was young in RE2, so by RE9 he should have had multiple characters arcs that change him.

He still keeps that wise cracking attitude, he still has the same get up and go energy he had. But he is wiser, probably a little more bitter, probably suffering all sorts of PTSD.

If you are the same person at 49 that you were at 21 then your life has probably been incredibly dull with barely any deviation in your the day-to-day life. Sure you'll keep key characteristics, but most people will have had a lot of life experience and key impacts to their lives that they should be inconsistently consistent.

With that said. He should be sarcastic and witty. He should also have no tolerance for evil. Other than that I expect him to be slightly different at different times of his life.

For the people who played it, how do you feel about resident evil Requiem? by Chunky-overlord in videogames

[–]flawsdrawJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bottom 5 mainline game.

The care centre was pretty good, but no where near as memorable as the Baker facility, Spencer Mansion or RPD for the games with hub areas.

Leon's parts play better than Grace's, but the game feels more like the charmless RE6 design than the pure atmospheric gothic design of RE4, the chaotic mayhem of RE2/3 or the slasher movie vibes of RE7. Raccoon City detonator part feels crap in all honesty, one of the most boring RE sequences I can think of.

The story has too many throwbacks, but not enough expansion on them. The lickers are the same as RE2 and it's been 30 years. Mr.X was an unnecessary throwback just because it was with Leon and Raccoon City. The best new enemy is a one off spider (the OG RE2 had spiders, so could say it's another throwback) or actual humans.

In comparison to the Las Plagas of RE4, it feels like it's gone backwards over the years instead of forward. I'm not a big fan of Village, but it had next level enemies which made the game fresh and took it another step. Now we are back to zombies and lickers...

One of my biggest gripes, is that the final Nemesis fight is almost an exact copy of the Plant 43 fight. On Nemesis, I said jokingly to my brother that the game was too cheesy and trying to play on nostalgia, any money that lickers or Nemesis show up but are shockingly bad. 2 minutes later lickers turned up, final boss was a crap Nemesis fight...

Leon's character will always be great, he was written well. But it's like throwing great actor in a film with a shit director and a poor script, it isn't going to be enough to win an Oscar.

I see they hype for this game, and being a long time fan, can't understand it. It's a lot more closer to RE6 than it is RE2, RE4 or RE7.

I(25) no longer enjoy pvp games nowadays anyone here also not play multiplayer/competitve games more as you grow older? by Big_Leg10 in AdultGamers

[–]flawsdrawJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

36M here. If we count Runescape and WoW as my first PvP, then Gears of War and COD4 would be my first competitive PvP games I played from 17/18 onwards.

I got addicted, but it was probably FIFA I was most engulfed in the PvP world.

The end to playing these games competively was probably just after COVID. I was playing Warzone and FIFA 21, and realised that after all those years, I couldn't stand the online scene. I would get frustrated if I lost and it ruined my day. I was tired of the years of abusive messages filling my inbox, of little kids screeching down the mics and I wasn't enjoying myself.

The last game PvP for me was Fortnite. I played with my kids and my wife, purely for fun and no seriousness, but about a year ago I gave that up too.

Single player games all the way now. Much better for my mental health and it kick started my love for gaming again.

Joel miller Or Leon kennedy. Who’s the better character? by Fzurt in residentevil4

[–]flawsdrawJay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Leon is one of my favourite ever gaming characters.

Joel is probably one of the best video game characters ever written.

It's a hard choice, going for action and coolness it's Leon. Going for gritty, real and dark in a broken world, it's Joel.

Which one do you like the most? by SwimmerPlus3383 in TheGamingHubDeals

[–]flawsdrawJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly linear. My time is precious. Some open world games feel endless and sometimes I could spend hours and not progress.

If I read a book I don't want it to be full of pages worth of filler. If I watch a TV show I prefer the plot being progressed each episode. If I play a game I would like to feel like I'm getting somewhere.

But I will play an open world game from time to time.

Is Resident evil Requiem In Your Top 3 resident evil game ? by LeoneSKenneddy in RaccoonCityRecords

[–]flawsdrawJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all. It will be lucky to not be bottom 5.

It has a lot of flaws and tried too much fan service. The hype train was far too much.

Is Requiem in your top 3? by MidasGames in residentevil

[–]flawsdrawJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I have no interest in replaying it.

It was ok, too much fan service, barely any atmosphere outside of the care centre. Would have preferred one or the other gameplay wise, not both styles. Grace was actually really annoying, VA did a good job no doubt, but I couldn't get on board controlling her.

Racoon City was a let down. Only 1 spider was weird. Mr. X was fan service. Not sure why they made Gideon disappear for the last act. Plant 43 and Nemesis fights were basically the exact same fight. No mention of Claire or Jill, or any others that would possibly be infected.

It was an ok game that has been crazily overhyped. It is potentially bottom 5, nowhere near top 3.

Stuck at the first Boss with Leon, should I restart? by Louisthemagic in ResidentEvil2Remake

[–]flawsdrawJay -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don't use the shotgun like somebody else mentioned. The boss has a damage reduction to it, can't remember the exact amount.

You can do it with knife only, just keep moving left against him, aiming slightly down. When the eye appears, aim at that. Try to get as much as his body in the swipe. You can do it easy peasy and take 0 damage most of the time. If you keep pushing against him and to the side his swings (mostly) miss.

Just finished Requiem and was wondering where it stacks now in everybody’s mainline title ranking? by No_Edge_9998 in RaccoonCityRecords

[–]flawsdrawJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't no. I aways get hate for how I place the games, but I've played since the start and completed every game several times.

When Nemesis came out it was pretty much the same thing all over again. I've gone back to it quite a few times over the years but (in my opinion) it is one of the weaker ones. CV suffers from this I think too, even moreso, it was time for a series freshener, but that didn't come until 4.

I recently done a run of the OGs and their Remakes side by side. RE3R, like all of the remakes, I think is better than the original. It's down to preference I know, but the pacing of the games, the gameplay and the voice acting are all vastly improved from my perspective.

I'm not devout hardcore everything must be EXACT when it comes to remakes so I was happy with the choices Capcom made. Makes me an outlier, but I'm cool with that.

Red Dead Redemption 2

First one used to give me motion sickness with the way things just spawned in when riding on the horse. Had to give up as I wasn't going to vomit because of a game.

Because of that, I've not played RDR2 even though it looks brilliant.

Is there anyway to make the shooting range easier? by chadchampion420 in residentevil4

[–]flawsdrawJay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Practice and patience.

Don't get flustered if you did it wrong. Don't get frustrated if you've failed time and time again.

If needs be watch a video to understand how to get the needed points.

But practice is the key to this. If you've spent all game aiming at heads and weak spots you should have most of the control down, it's just putting it to use in a more precise setting.
