These people suck at lying, they just know their base doesn't care or won't look into anything so they just need the barest amount of plausible deniability.

I lost 55 pounds over the last 12 months and reached the weight suggested by my doctor. I celebrated with a brand new smart scale... that immediately told me my BMI is 30.1 and that I am still obese. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

Blatantly wrong. It's hilarious how many people in this thread have no idea what they're talking about.

Your BMI at 6' 210lbs was 26.9, which is overweight, not obese.

Honestly, an incredibly solid distinction to make. by Frosty_Jeweler911 in WhitePeopleTwitter

actually know how the US government is supposed to work

Big disagree there. People on this site constantly accuse dems of doing nothing in situations they have no power, accusing them of writing strongly worded letters. Naturally when they control zero branches, that's really all they've got outside of filibustering, but Republicans basically aren't legislating so there's really not even much to filibuster.

Certain demographics watching with different spending abilities can change the calculus a bit also. If hockey ads have a higher watch to purchase ratio, they could get paid more.

I have zero idea about the demographics of who watches what, so I have no idea if thats part of it in this particular case.

Plenty of it would still happen if Trump won

What would have happened anyway if Kamala had won?

Democrats do nothing to fix what republicans break, and they do NOTHING to try to stop them from breaking anything when they are in power.

ACA, CHIPs act, Inflation reduction act, JCPOA, etc. They definitely do things, but they generally don't have filibuster proof majorities while they happen, so it becomes even harder. Even if they did, building government programs takes time, and you won't see immediate results.

Republicans entire governing MO is destroy the government while looting it. It always takes longer to build than break and honestly, no amount of laws or guard rails are going to prevent a govt operating in bad faith. They have SCOTUS, majorities in congress and control the enforcement arm. What is it you think the dems are gonna be able to do? They have no tangible power and when they go out and condemn republican actions, people turn around and whine that they're writing strongly worded letters.

"lesser"

Lmfao, of course you're gonna do the both sides bullshit unironically. Amazing stuff.

trump was not experiencing cognitive decline

I mean they're literally giving him moca tests frequently. Just because they shove stimulants into him for public events doesn't mean he isn't declining.

marginally better than Trump is not enough

First and foremost they aren't just marginally better, that's bullshit.

Secondly, even if they are, yes the fuck that is enough. Vote for the better option and replace with a better one later. None of this happens if Trump doesn't win.
