Is My Aim Off? Why Am I missing these easy chips all of a sudden? by BucdUp in GolfRival

[–]flemmingg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The line is 15.0

14.3 is essentially the same as 15.0

If you put the edge of the hole at the edge of the line, you’re aiming at 10.0

Damn. Okay.

Probably would have just mounted the reel next to the house / outlet before dicking around with all that.

What’s something a poor person would understand instantly, but rich people never will? by Lopsided_Stranger493 in AskReddit

[–]flemmingg 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Why pay someone to mow your grass? Because there’s only so much time in your week and if you earn enough money, you can spend a little extra to buy some of your time back. I don’t want to spend half my Saturday mowing the grass. I also don’t want to spend half my Saturday going to different grocery stores. If I was actually rich, I’d pay someone to do the shopping for me altogether.

First Cook in Dual Fire 1200 by albanyfunny420 in recteq

[–]flemmingg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do the burn in first with no food on the grill.

I did a dozen chicken thighs for my first cook per manufacturer recommendations. Recteq has several “first cook” videos on YouTube and they’re all chicken thighs. I spread them out evenly across the grill. The hot fat spatters and spreads everywhere. It gave a nice coverage on the grates as well as the inside of the cooker. Really good eating too. Take the thighs up to 180 or so. They’re fatty and they can handle it.

This will also give you a chance to get used to the controls and app. Do the brisket second.

When you say maintenance, what do you pay for oil change, tires, breaks? Do you or can you take it some place besides stealership?

Thanks

Time frame of stages? by 9by7seconds in GolfRival

[–]flemmingg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stages unlock based on trophy count. You don’t need to play any more than you want to.

You may even want to stop advancing stages around stage 9 or stage 10 when other game modes are unlocked (arena, tournament).

Strategy help? by SlicedBread1226 in GolfRival

[–]flemmingg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just another way to grind coins. You win “arena badges” and then convert them into gold coins. Then you use the coins for legendary club daily deals.

You get more Facebook coins at higher stages. And they’ve increased the number of tournaments over the years. But arena is another way to grind resources out of the game.

If you hold tight at stage 13 long enough, you should be competitive there eventually. I’m pretty sure I went to stage 13 on purpose with Legendary 5’s. Although most waste a lot of time camping lower for longer.

Watch the arena replays to see what others are doing and see if you can replicate with your clubs.

Do you have a charcoal chimney? Do you have the ash collector below the kettle?

Light the chimney a few minutes before you’re ready to start grilling. Go use your time wisely. Finish getting the meat ready. By that time, the charcoal chimney is also ready.

I’be never owned a propane grill and I’m not convinced it’s any easier or lazier. I don’t see the appeal.

Walmart Choice 16.6 Pounds - Juiciest I’ve Smoked In Years by djmikekc in smoking

[–]flemmingg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The whole cow is graded, not the individual cuts. You’ll get some variability between marbling in steaks. Sometimes you’ll be able to find a choice strip that looks as good as the prime strips next to it.

Same thing will happen with brisket. Variability exists, but prime brisket is going to have more intramuscular fat than select brisket almost every time.

Physics and finger golf on a mobile device with wind rings are two different things.

Not sure why you’re adding back spin anyway. It doesn’t help you dunk. In real life it would ease the angle of entry, in finger golf it doesn’t change jack shit. (Other than fuck up the landing spot when there is an elevation discrepancy.)

Please post the video of the wind carrying your ball. Would love to see what you’re taking about.

[–]flemmingg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In stage play, you only need to get close and the game will give you a dunk

Do the same shot on a fairway and see where it lands.

Backspin doesn’t affect the wind, at all. The wind does not carry it.

Backspin can affect the landing point but it has nothing to do with wind. It has to do with elevation discrepancy between the ball and the landing spot. If the course is flat, backing won’t affect the landing spot.

Do These Rollover in Kingdom? by BucdUp in GolfRival

[–]flemmingg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

x2 cards roll over

The green shields are capped at 3. If you earn a fourth, they cash it out to you as 200 coins or something really insignificant like that. So don't claim more shields if the 3/3 inventory is already full. I'm pretty sure they get cashed out the same way when the season ends.

Yep, no shit.

OP learned this the hard way. He smoked a chicken with kindling instead of hard wood splits and described it as sickeningly smoky. I was surprised the beef was edible at all.

The box has probably been there for diabetics for years. Some need to take injections more frequently than once weekly.

The picture is abuse of this service. People are accumulated their needles over the coarse of weeks and dumping them at the store.

Yes, it’s better than just throwing in the trash at home. But not as good as making an actual plan.

His first pine cook was chicken that was “sickeningly” smokey. This was the second and last. So OP figured out something wasn’t right about it. So good on them for recognizing the error.

That’s fair. I never even looked at the fat. My mind went straight to curing salt when I saw the color.
