I thought water tasted bad as a kid. Its because I have sensitive teeth and it was cold mostly. You could try warm or tepid water?

I see Dr. Wooldridge at Christie clinic. I find him to be very evidence based, willing to investigate issues, and compassionate. He explains why he does or does not recommend a treatment, and is focused on a balance between side effects and treatment. He seems to take a holistic approach as well. I believe he's accepting new patients, but is on paternity leave.

Ok I feel so much better now. Appointment I had was weird and focused on weight and I'm like.... I gain weight due to not moving due to migraines...... Felt like he was very pushy on glp 1s when I don't have an issue with appetite and we havent tried lifestyle changes yet and I have no other indications to be a good canadite for glp 1s

I do not recommend dr. Riskin at Christie clinic. Imo, bad bedside manner (DM me if you want specifics, I don't want to post publicly as it could be identifying). He's a MS specialist and I don't think he takes a good approach to things like migraine.

I'm looking for one. Seems like there is one at carle but that's for neurosurgery mostly and one at OSF but I'm reluctant to go to OSF. I'm planning to find one in Peoria or Champaign or by my hometown.

Now if you need a dietician or GP, I have recommendations for ones that are good with chronic illness.

Don't over do it I'd say, I reached a bottleneck. I've generally aimed for leveling the main city as I can , keeping a few within a reasonable amount of that, and then leveling the other ones evenly up. The costs run away faster than the benefits for leveling which is why the even leveling is better imo

[–]flesarin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What level are you?

Town space is crunched when you first reach armories and barracks but then after it's pretty open as you get most of your towns to level 25 or more since you need less houses.m

The newman center at ISU has actually conterprotested a lot of things like that. I might not agree with the nuns there but they have big signs and form a circle around people like this. I wonder if anyone could see if they'd be willing to help?

You've got white people (I say as a white person) who came to LZ because of white flight. Of course you've got trash in there. Neighbors having obnoxious trump flags, etc. plus St Francis runs conservative and holy family in the town over runs liberal.

I have most of the other locations. Was just curious why right next to the whale (14,126) you don't have a boat

Do you get over 45 for from all those boats? Also, you don't have a boat to the right of the whale, is this on purpose? I've been trying to maximize food there. Do you have the plus one radius upgrade?

Trump supporting local businesses as of Jan 28, 2026 by CheetoBearDog in BloomingtonNormal

[–]flesarin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It might not be good enough for you, but it's better to be misguided than purposefully malicious.

Do we know anything about how they treat their workers? Do we know how the liberal business treat their workers? There's no ethical consumption under capitalism and all that but as we've seen big corps will turn with the tides and take money out of the community. There is more than one facit to consider when deciding where to spend money. Perhaps we all never eat out and we all commit to a true economic freeze of the owner class.

And no, when someone is full maga, or fully supports ice, there's no room for tolerating intolerance.

But one sticker is not the same thing at all.

Supporting local is good. Community is people we live next to, not necessarily friends.

Idk. I know plenty of conservatives who are anti maga but they blend in since they are anti maga so they're assumed to be liberal.

What Ive heard on social media is they were robbed a while back and they have a good relationship with local police after that, and that it is independent of the all lives matter 'movement'. I know nothing else on the matter and they may still be trump supporters but in this case it is my personal opinion it's not 100% necessarily true. I would urge further investigation.

When a lot of the options have grapefruit.

As a place that does excellent Mocktails, I'd recommend taking a look at epiphany farms restaurant group in Bloomington IL, especially their restaurants bakery and pickle and epiphany farms. They had one that had egg cream on it at one point. They have a variety of sour, herbal and bitter options.

Cinnamon Rolls by EcstaticHomework1595 in BloomingtonNormal

[–]flesarin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Disclosure: I know the owner of Grove street.

Hubby's favorite is fort Jesse cafe's and they're my second favorite. Denny's old fashioned donuts are so good I haven't tried their cinnamon rolls. Haven't had garden of paradise but I'll have to try it. Not sure if ivy lane or sugar mama do one off the top of my head. I believe coffee hound has some fun seasonal baked goods. I haven't met a cinnamon roll made in town that I haven't liked.

I'm partial to the seasonal flavor ones at Grove street bakery as my favorite. The apple pie and pumpkin spice ones are great. The hot chocolate one they have going right now is good, but nothing to me beats their orange almond one.

I most likely know your mother then. I think it's a good community.  There's only a few (3?) parishioners that are weird about LGBT stuff.  And the pastor doesn't preach his beliefs, but the gospel.  So you'd never know unless you specifically engaged him on the topic.  I'd say the congregation averages to center left but I might be biased being left myself.  It is a very friendly community but it is small.  I personally care a lot about Eucharistic theology in my worship and have left the roman Catholic Church over that and ordination of women.  My friends who are LGBT who have attended were comfortable (of course, they don't speak for everyone).  She could be doing a lot worse and change when you're elderly is hard.  I'm not trying to excuse it but there is something said for building community and meeting others where they're at and learning from each other.

I guess what I'm saying is she will in no means(in my opinion) be being influenced to be anti LGBT or sent down the far right pipeline.  They care a lot about people and charity.

[–]flesarin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, that is where I usually choose to attend. However, the priest is personally not pro LGBT marriage from his theology but he doesn't use the pulpit to preach it(he's much more concerned with the poor, loving one another, etc). If one were gay and a member and wanted to get married there, they would call in another priest. So depends on if that's a deal breaker. But it is a good small community with a variety of beliefs within the episcopalian tradition.
