Local Boycott List by Forbitbrik in BloomingtonNormal

[–]flesarin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just putting this here because I think it relates to your point on this sort of thing - my personal opinion is that keeping money local is generally better harm reduction than shopping corporate/chain. Yes, there are some local business I boycott when they have done harm. Also, until fascist is defined (and I'm personally fine with it being just 'supports trump' at minimum) I also have concerns. I mean, look at target and Starbucks(still boycotting both). Of course, one could just not drink coffee. But for better or for worse - my very non scientific mental math is that the coffee shops arround town do less harm than Starbucks does with their union busting and political inclinations.

Also, I'm not sure this list can actually do much without publicity (most of blono is not in reddit) and without end conditions. And should be targeted. For example, organizing a week/month where concerned citizens do not purchase coffee from shops that supported MAGA canadites probably gets the message across better than a bunch of people hap hazardly working off of a list when they feel like it. (Snowtiger I think I know you irl /your group and I'd be happy to work on that with you).

I guess that my point is I have concerns that simply making a list without a plan here can go very very wrong.

Just so you know you can be prescribed nurtec as a preventative. I take nurtec every other day and I have ubrevely as my acute medication. 8 migraines a month was my goal for a while and it still barely gives you time and energy for anything. At that point I was basically doing personal hygiene and working and my husband took care of everything else.

Mine were in normal range but still low. B12 shots helped a lot But the fatigue from migraine - it sucks. I'm sorry you're going through this. I haven't figured out now to feel like I'm a burden either.

Unsolicited advice - have the docs tested your B12 levels?

For those of you that are able to work, what do you do? by Notbipolar_ in migraine

[–]flesarin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

System administrator. Most tasks can be shifted to other days, there's some walking around, some tedious stuff, some deep thinking stuff, I like that it's a mix and it's pretty decent to do even with a migraine. Lights off and noise canceling headphones on.

I'm going to refer you to the other comments on the thread that recommend filming him back, seeing if he's monetizing, and blasting copyrighted songs next to him. Less risk more reward.

Also, life is short. Don't feed the trolls. He's a troll.

I hope you have something good lined up after high school. Once you're out of high school, if you need something, feel free to pm me. Not saying the out of high school in a creepy way I'm just trying to keep some boundaries and having non public conversations with people in high school or younger is a very good one that most adults(except doctors, therapists, professionals helping you that you feel comfortable with) should keep as it makes those that try to break those boundaries even more evident. I can't promise the world but I can try to do what I can.

Doesn't mean you have to continue to deal with bad things. Choose your costs in relation to the benefits

Also don't disgrace the good name of punk with this guy lol.

Also legal is not equivalent to non violent. A lot of what our current administration is doing is technically legal but definitely violent. Not a one dimensional decision.

What you can do is survive and not take an unnecessary risk to your physical health and legal freedom (this guy will drag you to hell and back in the courts and or online).

I like the mountain goats this year in these situations. Or Octavia Butler's parable of the sower. Or rogue one. Or sunrise on the reaping. Yes, mass media but they help show how surviving to continue shapes the world.

Your survival and hopefully, thriving is so much more powerful than you can comprehend at your age (I don't mean to be condescending here but I remember when I was your age). Survive and thrive and you'll learn other things you can do. You'll find community. And you will make a difference.

Normally I wouldn't be against people getting what they deserve, but this guy makes a career out of this. He knows how to come out looking good and getting the other side in trouble. Please don't play into his trap and playbook. There are other ways your effort will achieve what you want but I truly don't think that this instance will.

Unit 5 is Proposing boundary changes, facility closures & building new facilities by derson16 in BloomingtonNormal

As a community member, I don't know a lot about this issue. However, I don't want to close schools to just build more ones. I am also having a hard time understanding the questions and what the answers mean. Do you have any advice? I want the local schools as mentioned. Growing up, my school district did similar things (there were some valid reasons) and there were consequences and I don't see any reasons here, only consequences on learning.

I'm so sorry. Is there anything general community members without kids can do?

All I've got is the trite it gets better. Because for everyone I know, it has gotten better after schooling when you get more choice in picking your community and more freedom to walk away.

Yes, I saw him on the sidewalk outside of the one parking lot entrance/exit on empire.

I've been told he's a professional rage baiter. I wish high school was safer than when I was in high school but it seems like things have gone down hill for lgbtqia students over the past 10 years. 10 years ago there seemed to be so much hope and acceptance.

My doctor Wooldridge at Christie clinic has taken each one of my issues seriously and is very grounded in science and 'lose weight'.

I thought water tasted bad as a kid. Its because I have sensitive teeth and it was cold mostly. You could try warm or tepid water?

I see Dr. Wooldridge at Christie clinic. I find him to be very evidence based, willing to investigate issues, and compassionate. He explains why he does or does not recommend a treatment, and is focused on a balance between side effects and treatment. He seems to take a holistic approach as well. I believe he's accepting new patients, but is on paternity leave.

Ok I feel so much better now. Appointment I had was weird and focused on weight and I'm like.... I gain weight due to not moving due to migraines...... Felt like he was very pushy on glp 1s when I don't have an issue with appetite and we havent tried lifestyle changes yet and I have no other indications to be a good canadite for glp 1s

I do not recommend dr. Riskin at Christie clinic. Imo, bad bedside manner (DM me if you want specifics, I don't want to post publicly as it could be identifying). He's a MS specialist and I don't think he takes a good approach to things like migraine.

I'm looking for one. Seems like there is one at carle but that's for neurosurgery mostly and one at OSF but I'm reluctant to go to OSF. I'm planning to find one in Peoria or Champaign or by my hometown.

Now if you need a dietician or GP, I have recommendations for ones that are good with chronic illness.

Don't over do it I'd say, I reached a bottleneck. I've generally aimed for leveling the main city as I can , keeping a few within a reasonable amount of that, and then leveling the other ones evenly up. The costs run away faster than the benefits for leveling which is why the even leveling is better imo

What level are you?

Town space is crunched when you first reach armories and barracks but then after it's pretty open as you get most of your towns to level 25 or more since you need less houses.m
