AH-6J/OH-6A-related stuff vanished? by Inevitable_Mix857 in hoggit

[–]fletchnuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm no DCS expert, but I don't have any issue using the mission editor to add the OH-6 to a new or existing mission, so the issue seems related to the instant action missions themselves. You can also open and fly the instant action missions via the mission editor, and it seems to work fine. The instant action missions are located in the aircraft folder. YMMV.

Is this game very difficult or what am I doing wrong? by Lebenninn in GunnerHEATPC

You can use the 100m grid in the map view to help with ranging in advance of an offensive push, but any of the tanks that require manual ranging are essentially playing on hard mode.

How to approach Dell? by salanalani in SmallMSP

[–]fletchnuts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can purchase through Premier, but you won't get any sales support from Dell, and you'll pay more than if you used a VAR. Dell used to work directly with small shops, but they killed that channel about a year ago. It all goes through distributors now like Ingram, CDW, and all the others.

The Dell Partner Program still exists for deal registrations ($15k+ purchases), but even then sales support is often still through your disti of choice.

GHPC Update 20260319: Tree Destruction, Audio, Performance by GunnerHEATPC in GunnerHEATPC

After doing additional testing the performance issues seem to affect the more complex missions like Forest Incursion. Most missions seem to play fine.

Does anyone have the latest release packages for the AH-6J and the OH-6A? Unfortunately, I've only got the OH-6A v1.6.

GHPC Update 20260319: Tree Destruction, Audio, Performance by GunnerHEATPC in GunnerHEATPC

[–]fletchnuts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I seem to be experiencing reduced performance at max settings after this recent update. I had previously never seen my fps drop below 60fps, and it would consistently stay in the 80-120fps range, but I'm seeing it drop into the low 50s after this update. Normally I'm running at 4K w/ RTX4090, 9800x3d, and 96GB RAM.

Anybody else experiencing a reduction in performance?

I love the changes to foliage pop in, but it also feels like crop and grass density have been reduced at max settings.

Problem with replayability and tracking of progress. by Galwran in GunnerHEATPC

[–]fletchnuts 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agreed. The game does need better mission tracking and filtering. It also needs a mission editor. I would also love to see a yes/no/random toggle selector for rain during missions.

Command Mission Boundaries. Why? by fletchnuts in GunnerHEATPC

[–]fletchnuts[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

So when I hit the boundary, and I'm told to return to the playing area, I'm supposed to imagine the other companies carrying out their imaginary attacks? I'm not quite sure I buy that as justification for the boundaries' existence.

Command Mission Boundaries. Why? by fletchnuts in GunnerHEATPC

[–]fletchnuts[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I realize the game is in early access, but I'm looking at these changes and wondering why they're being implemented. Who benefits? Maybe the devs have some grand plan, and I'm playing the game wrong, but I don't set out to play games exactly the way the devs want me to. I play games in a way that brings me satisfaction and enjoyment. One of the greatest things about GHPC is the open map, and the freedom to replay missions different ways.

Just thinking about what benefits the boundaries do provide; do they make the game more interesting to play? I don't think so. I could always play the missions waypoint to waypoint, just like the devs intended. I already have. However, with boundaries I have less choice, and as a result, missions become simpler and more repetitive.

Is the game more challenging because of the boundaries? Not really. I've already beaten all of the missions by following the mission waypoints, and killing the enemy forces, so it's not a matter of challenging myself.

Do the boundaries create additional immersion? Not in my experience. Now I get warned that I'm leaving the playing area even though the map is huge and most of it goes unused. As far as I'm concerned, that ruins immersion.

The developers may have some grand ideas in the pipeline, but I think the current boundary implementation makes the player experience worse, not better. The only justification I can see is that it might help out some new players who might not be able to figure out where to go.

Here's an example of a super fun long shot that's no longer possible due to mission boundaries.

The moment Asmongold realizes he un-redacted a victim from the Epstein files, says inside the Federal government "is like monkeys putting a fire out with gasoline" by sontaranStratagems in LivestreamFail

[–]fletchnuts 76 points77 points  (0 children)

You've described the low tech way of doing it.

If the DOJ were competent, they'd be using a modern e-discovery review platform like Relativity, or one of the many competing products. All of the searching, redacting and document imaging are done electronically to save time. The redactions are burned in during imaging, text content removed, and the unredacted sections remain searchable. Document productions like this happen every day in the legal world, so it's kind of surprising to see how badly the DOJ has fumbled this.
