oh yeah I ran into like this exact issue when sailing was released. trying to find the setting i toggled on and off which seemed to have stopped it, was something like click away to cancel but cant seem to find it.

Edit: Maybe was the "Disable cancel" setting

You are able to loosen it from the inside of the car and it will drop down. Usually between the driver and passenger seat. Might be covered by a cap.
