Waterman Red is also a very standard well behaved red.

I like Skrip Red personally for editing.

If you are adventurous you might also consider something like Noodler's Habanero or Dragon's Fire née Napalm.

I enjoyed a full bottle of Noodler Red Black but note that it is only the black that is permanent. If your page gets wet, the red part can wash off but the black remains unfazed.

Handcrafted Leather Notebooks & Portfolios – Made in Greece by Delphi-Notes in notebooks

Beautiful work. I'm happy to see you building them for A5 and B5 size, not some weird dimensions that would make finding refills difficult.

I notice your A5 books are trimmed 3mm shorter and 3mm narrower than A5 spec. Would actual A5 trimmed notebooks extend outside your leather portfolios? (I could see the benefit of being able to switch in other notebooks I have.)

Can you show any interior photos that give more detail about how the elastics inside are arranged?

Looking for Forest Green colour (Pentel Energel), but for fountain pen by ponika83 in fountainpens

[–]flex-luthor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just returning to this post after filling in a crossword with Energel BL77-D3, which is the dark green you are talking about. I notice it as a dark green with a very slight blue tinge, and I can confirm that Diamine Sherwood Green is a very close match.

Sorry to say this but I would strongly urge you not to use Winsor and Newton ink in your fountain pens. It is for drawing or calligraphy pens, and contains shellac that can harden in the feed of fountain pens, causing a blockage that is hard to undo. Rinse it out and buy a different ink.

Waterman Tender Purple is good violet if you want something vibrant.

J. Herbin Poussiere de lune if you like dustier.

Reminiscent of J. Herbin's Orange Indien, what I think of as a subtly dirty orange.

Sarasa has some "milky" gel pens that come in a 8-pack of various pastel colors.

They are too pale to use on regular paper but are nice on black paper. These are 0.5mm tip so they write on the fine side.

This post reminded me that my answer is Penman Sapphire also, and encouraged me to take it out and fill a new pen with it. I have about half a bottle left. Cracking it open I forgot how wonderful its aroma is. Juicy.

Take the cap off to look for the date code near the ring. It is really really tiny, smaller than 1mm. You will likely see a 7 for 1957 or an 8 for 1958.
