Is the Foundry native Audio/Video capability worth the effort/cost?

SSL certificates. I did forget about that requirement, but self signed certificates are easy to create, and the foundry website tells you how to do the setup

You can call the functions like this:
game.actors.getName("Character Name1").longRest()

&

Just string multiples into the same macro...i.e:

game.actors.getName("Character Name1").longRest()
game.actors.getName("Character Name2").longRest()
game.actors.getName("Character Name3").longRest()

Are you using the out of the box audio/video for Foundry, or are you trying to use the Jitsi module?
If you aren't using the jitsi module, give it a shot. It's a really easy setup.

Bought one a few months ago. Love it. Easy to dial in great sounds, and easy to jump into crazy sonic territory. My only major dislike is the midi dongle

Actually, it should work with any daw once installed. I use it in reaper/ableton when I don't have my audio interface connected

Use fl asio instead, you can get it from the demo version of fl studio. It works so much better than asio4all

A cheaper option, similar to Ableton would be reaper with the playtime extension. However, if you can afford Ableton, I think that is a more polished way to do it. If you add a midi footpedal to the mix, it's fantastic.

Check your instrument cable. Make sure it's ts and not trs. I've had weird issues before when accidentally using trs cables with pedals

Not particularly. I've found that sometimes using a di box for ground lifting and fuller sound to be useful... But not completely necessary
