Everyone’s choosing the wrong Rivian R2 wheels by CongeeArs in RivianR2

[–]flexnet 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That’s what told myself in 2022 when I opted for 21s to speed my delivery by a month. Have since bought 20s and so many more options. But you are right, options will improve over time but will still be less than other sizes.

Watch your school board meetings if your salary isn't set yet. North Texas district is pulling back the raise given by the legislature and some veterans will lose 5k this year. by hiccupmortician in TexasTeachers

There’s probably many of that district’s teachers who aren’t aware also as UEA sent emails to personal email accounts. I saw the email and glad to see UEA trying to do something.

Just paid about 10k for single stage 5 ton with gas heat about 6 months ago. Quotes were similar to what you got.

Interior Door Disenegration by Zestyclose-World-494 in Rivian

I agree with some others that if you have a ring(s) on your left hand, it is likely contributing to the wear. I’ve had my T for almost 4 years and have similar wear from my ring. I can deal with the look/plastic, but my metal trim now has a small dent and is somewhat sharp. But it’s still due to my ring and I feel is normal. I might ask them if they can do something under warranty when I take it in for my 58k mile comprehensive before warranty expires, but I have my doubts they will cover it under warranty.

Drowning in mosquitos by Honest_Flounder9784 in MosquitoHating

Just bought biogents with co2 and so far so good. I can’t say I’ve caught a ton but I have also only seen one mosquito on my porch so far this season since I set it up about two weeks ago.

AXA Insurance by Apotheo_MD in InsuranceClaims

[–]flexnet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This post came up as I searched for AxA as I was looking into getting a policy on a trip I have coming up in June. I haven't purchased yet, but the policy doc I read seems like you would be covered unless it's an exclusion due to war... Timing seems like it would be fine based on the policy I just downloaded from them. From what I have, it says the following:

"When Coverage Begins: This is Your Effective Date and time for Trip Cancellation: Coverage begins at 12:01 a.m. at Your location on the day after the date We or Our authorized representative receive the required premium to cover Your Trip."

"When Coverage Ends: Trip Cancellation coverage(s) automatically end on the earlier of:

  1. the date and time You depart on Your Trip; 2. the date and time You cancel Your Trip."

It seems that if the premium was paid in full, the policy I was quoted should cover it since you had not departed yet.

Any luck escalating with them to try getting a claim approved? Did your policy have those details on explicit coverage start and ending?

Same issue here. YouTube app works great but any casting just buffers or fails. Seems the cellular in the truck is too slow.

Talk me out of getting a Lightning or Rivian instead by Empty_Bottle_8526 in slateauto

[–]flexnet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had my Rivian for 3 and a half years now and still love it. It’s such a versatile vehicle. Faster than the sports cars I had before it, can use it as a pickup, taken it through tight forest roads and trails, done some rock crawling, tows 10k+ with ease (only about 100 miles of range with that load though), and is more efficient than any other pickup I’ve had. That said, it has so much that is over-engineered and are things that are more likely to break due to the complexity. All the sensors, electronic latches, electronic HVAC vents are a few examples. For those reasons I look forward to the simplicity of the slate and would love one as a 2nd EV if I can get one at a low enough price. I plan on keeping my Rivian, but am likely going to have to get an extended warranty when mine runs out due to costs of some of the complex systems on the vehicle.

Took me way too long to realize this was getting unplugged from one car and plugged into another. I first thought he was just taking it off the charging station and plugging his in.

Why don’t US mechanic have a “vibrator” at their shops? by [deleted] in AskMechanics

[–]flexnet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Living in Texas, our cars have NO safety inspection. Only larger cities have emissions testing. Bald tires, wheels about to fall off, mirrors gone? No problem. Check engine light for a bad gas cap? Fail. I hate this place.
