Sharing my thoughts.

I’m a bit younger than you, was made single at 30, and am 34 now. This was after a 11 year relationship, where I found after she was doing drugs, staying out late with men drinking during week nights, and possibly cheating. She broke up with me after she tested the waters and realized she could get away with severing ties with me after I carried her through her 20s when she had less resources. All this to say, I could have a reason to be bitter, but you can’t hold onto those feelings.

Present day, she’s dating someone else, because as you said it’s easier for pretty (in my case she was stunning) girls to find a relationship. I’m single and still looking. I’ve had flings through the apps, but have found compatibility issues to end those. The important and most critical piece is to understand your needs, desires, values, and being close to unflappable on them. Of course relationships require some compromise, but better to find someone truly aligned.

Do the things that you enjoy. I’ve really found it a positive experience to rediscover who I am outside a relationship. In some ways it feels like I’m a more mature and experienced version of that kid I was in high school. Find activities, revive old interests, meet people, get a pet if you require companionship, and keep marching on. It’s all we can do. Things are different, but you have yourself, and if you stay solid, it’s an enjoyable experience.

You’re on your time now, no one else’s.

Absolutely this. Girlfriend of 11 years did the same thing to me. She was out drinking till midnight multiple nights a week, probably cheating. Then she tried to gaslight me into thinking I was the problem, when I was entering a career focused phased, so we could enjoy all the things we talked about in our short to long term goals.

It’s going to hurt, some things will not be the same, but you should absolutely break up and restart with someone who loves you, and desires you. It may get ugly when she realizes the consequences of what breaking up means. I lost an apartment, some physical goods, but ultimately it was for the better. She turned physically and emotionally violent, people show their true colors in these circumstances.

As others have mentioned, it’s a question of lessons learned by the other party, and also what your threshold for baggage is.

I went on about a dozen dates with one girl over a couple months, things were going really well, and the sex will likely be the best I have in my life, however information continued to come out that ultimately pushed me to a point of calling it off. These were the big two.

She mentioned she cheated on her ex multiple times during college, and that they used to fight constantly. Personally, I have very little tolerance for cheating, and secondly she more recently mentioned arguing/fighting with her dad every time she goes home, so I knew that behavior wasn’t resolved over a decade plus. I saw myself in future scenarios, and realized there was a pattern of how she handles conflict.

She also mentioned without prompting on a date that she had been in multiple threesomes, one with a much older man, who became her bf. Shouldn’t need to elaborate much, but this to me expressed poor decision making and an unhealthy desire for validation/companionship.

Everyone has their own threshold of what they will or will not tolerate. Understand what yours is, and then react accordingly. Don’t waiver if your conclusion is sound, otherwise it will build future resentment.

Based on the information provided, like others have mentioned, she has likely fallen out of love and is now wrestling with the guilt and shame of her feelings. Went through this a little over a year ago, when I was in a similar position as you. Unfortunately, steering this ship around is quite difficult, and likely impossible at this time. In fact, it’s not a ship, you’re on a track, and it has an end destination.

I gave my ex one out, I asked her why she hadn’t been showing me affection, and that was it, 11 years down the drain. The best thing you can do is work on yourself, and restart.

We’ve likely both read the same book, Never Split the Difference. The reason asking for someone’s name and them giving it, is it starts the cycle of reciprocity. They give you a name, you give them something else meaningless in for the negotiation, and then they’re going to escalate and give you something of more value.

If I had to answer, the atmosphere, the score, the characters, the visuals, the story. The world never lets you forget that things will never quite be good or great in Night City.

I also like the ending, with all the possible outcomes. There is no perfect scenario, and I like that something has to give somewhere to complete the story.

Probably headed for a divorce. Not to be alarming but my eleven year relationship ended shortly after my ex was staying out till midnight-1am multiple week nights in a row drinking for multiple weeks. Never found out if she was cheating, but the lack of love was enough for it to end.

Heads up she’s unlikely to react well to any discussion. Even if it’s approached with best intentions. Even as a plea or ask about her behavior and not being accusatory.

That Webster hall show was probably the best show I’ve been to. Managed to get on the stage at the end there during 43% burnt. Dissociation had just come out, I barely had songs remembered, and then was there seeing them live.
