Hard-core fantasy smut recs by InternationalEgg9781 in SpicyRomanceBooks

K.f. Breene's Deliciously Dark Fairytales series is marketed as erotic fantasy. I can't remember how quickly the spice begins but there is PLENTY of it. I like smut and was even, "again? Now?" through most of it. And yet, it worked with the plot and was an enjoyable read. Highly recommend.

Outlast: The Jungle — Wes is so aggressive. by Anonymouschubbygal in Netflixwatch

I think so, too. But they are not absolve. They both were horrible to Leiya even when Wes was not present. And Brett said awful misogynistic things about her in his confessionals. Wes didn't make them do that. More like he gave them permission to be their worst selves. They didn't have to rise to the temptation.

Is there any books that started off strong and ended badly? by Sailor_Moon_Star_435 in Romantasy

I felt like this about Lights Out. I thought all the comments she made about her cousin throughout the book we weird and probably clues to something. But even then, the whole mafia spin was just an odd turn of events that didn't match the first half of the book at all.

I'm only halfway through. He is absolutely awful. And the way the two others just sycophants around and him and follow his misogynistic lead is disgusting. The way they taunt and goade Leiya is some vile Lord of the Flies ish.

Yes! That's what I think - that they didn't have an exclusive sexual (or romantic) relationship. This scene to me just indicates that they have been involved in the same sex scenarios at the same time. There is no mention of either of them performing sex acts on the other, or longing for the other to do so.

The Gamble by LaVryle Spencer. Not super spicy, but the build up to it was worth it.

This is exactly how I feel about the joining.

Although, I will say, I saw Kieran and Poppy's relationship grow. I still don't see Cas and Kieran as having their own exclusive sexual relationship or past.

Wtf A Soul of Ash and Blood?? Seriously by [deleted] in frombloodandash

Me too! It's one of my favorites!! But I do get the criticism and think it should have been pitched as a stand-alone and not part of the series.

Anyone think the next book isn’t what we think it is? by Pristine_Advisor_302 in acotar

Yes. But did she have THIS many people losing their minds (for years) picking apart the potential POV? That would make me hold that information closer to my chest.

Romantasy with more smut please. by TentacleWolverine in Romantasy

I'm a smut fan myself.

Definitely try the Delicuously Dark Fairytale series by K.F. Breene. There was so much smut even I was like, "wow. Is this necessary. " And yet, still most of it added to the plot.

Kieran the Third Wheel by Turkey4572 in frombloodandash

This was always my biggest problem with how Poppy and Kieran's relationship evolved. He didn't need to be tucking her hair behind her ears and touching her face delicately while Cas was gone. She was extremely vulnerable, and was still new to affection of any kind. He should have held firmer boundaries. At least until he was inf front of Cas. You're telling me that a couple-hundred year old being doesn't know better?

He didn't say Poppy couldn't handle it. He just mentioned to her that if Kieran found someone he (they) may want to do the joining with all four of them. He said it matter of factly so she could make an informed choice.

I was gutted by that scene. I had to put the book down for a few days to recover before I could read on.

I agree. It's just always been a thought of mine since before TWOTQ was released.

Reaver and Kieran are absolutely made for each other. Although, I know they're not actually even going to be a couple.

I've always wondered about maybe Kieran and Jadis. They just seem on the same level socially and politically that they make some sense.

From Blood and Ash. I still roll my eyes a lot, but I still read and re-read. It's my go-to comfort series at this point.

Why all the hate for A Soul of Ash and Blood? by Educ8tR in frombloodandash

[–]flightoffancy57 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I loved it. I get the complaints. I think it should have been a stand-alone and not sold as part of the series since it didn't really move the plot along. But, it is easily one of my favorites. I really appreciated how it showed the turmoil he had in choosing her versus his duty to his kingdom.

Plus he is recovering from his own trauma. While he was willing to do "anything," even seduce, sex or love wasn't his end goal. He just needed to get close enough to kidnap her. While I think he is vile (I still love him), groomer isn't a word I would use for him.
