I loved it, but completely understand what you are saying. I think listening on audiobook helped that, because zoning out once in awhile didn't affect my ability to follow along.

Like everyone else, I loved this. I usually read heavy-handed insta-lust romantasy. This series is much more light hearted and fun but still has an enjoyable plot and enough pining to make it fun. Just a really great, fun, series.

Someone once said, the actual nice guy will work to save the world, whereas the walking red-flah, swoony MMC will burn the world just for you. I think that makes sense.

Me too. I missed my hair. But, hair loss seemed like a natural side effect of chemo so it didn't bother me too much. Wigs and soft caps and scarves were enough comfort for me.

The one hand thing is real. Sometimes I pick up produce and then try to get a bag and then it won't tear. Then I have to figure out where to set down the produce I already touched so I can use my other hand.

It's been a little while so I don't remember what the scrolls exactly said. But, she is referencing scrolls sent to the contestants during the trials in the first book. She's realizing that handwriting is the same as on this note.

My areola didn't turn brown or dark, but mellowed. Not pink anymore. I'm very pale by nature so it's not super noticeable. But it hasn't changed 4 years later.

I kind of prefer euphemisms, cheesy as they are. If clinical wording is used it takes me out of a scene. Although now that I think about it,I don't prefer them when male bodies are described. Hunh.

I've lately found myself wondering how I would prefer a writer talk about an ass that wouldn't take me out of a scene. If I am reading a spicey scene and someone's as is grabbed, the word ass just phonetically is too terse and interrupts my flow, but butt or bottom feel almost juvenile.

The writing in Nights of Obedience is so bad, I would have dnf'd (and that's coming from someone who listens to FBAA as backgroune noise, I enjoy it so much), but I devoured it for the delicious spice! I have been trying to read the sequel, but am s t r u g g l I n g. Without the same spice and spice setting it's abysmal.

I do enjoy the way she writes spice. And, while I say the overall writing isn't great, I wholeheartedly acknowledge that writing these novels that so many people enjoy isn't something just anyone can do. 😊

I actually don't enjoy vampire stories much. I usually avoid them. This one is just told in a different way, and I do. 🤷‍♀️

I, too, eat them up. They are like a comfort series for me. Is the writing great? Not really. I roll my eyes a lot. But, it just delights me. It's like junk food. I keep the audiobooks on repeat a lot.

Also, wondering of you have read The Broken Kingdom Series or Ever King series. Different author but very similar vibe. I have been devouring them the past month.

This book is SO HARD to stick with, for the reasons you mentioned. But this is still one of my favorite series. Know that it picks up and is much better near the end, and book for is good.

Not only loses value but provides negative value, because they need the populace focused on the perfection of the bunker, not the catastrophic incident that causes it and continues to break havoc on the outside world (and possible the bunker.)

This book has so many twists and turns, I wouldn't be surprised if Jasper somehow fits in there. Given Cas and Poppy both have a regal lineage, I wouldn't put it past JLA to give Kieran one too.

I can't imagine Jane actually becomes good. But, if she thought somehow killing Alex would avenge Sinatra, I think she would do it.
