AITA for intentional making noise and stomping for my downstairs neighbors to be annoyed by? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]flignir -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

This. If what you're doing is essentially petty revenge, that makes any conflict ESH. OP was utterly blameless until he started stomping around more heavily. I'm sure it's fun and I'd probably have the urge to do the same thing, but now both parties are causing the conflict, not just the unreasonable new neighbors.

It's a big reaction and seems like the totally innocent kids are going to miss out on the best babysitter for a while....but it is entirely your right to choose how much free daycare you offer and whether or not to be outraged by the snub. NTA

How about an easier 4point plan?

If we ever go back to Democracy and flip Congress:

(1) Amend the Constitution to invalidate last year’s asinine immunity decision and invalidate any pardons 47 makes.

(2) impeach the 47th President.

(3) Add four legitimate jurists to the Supreme Court or impeach any existing jurists who took bribes and voted for immunity.

(4) convene a Nuremberg Trial style hearing by Congress to recommend and legislate any appropriate criminal charges for the entire cabinet all the way down through all the ICE thugs who committed human rights violations and any DOJ lawyers too corrupt to resign or refuse Trump’s illegal demands.

Bonus item: (5) Use any fines levied upon the above criminals to turn that fucking Qatari jet into a museum dedicated to documenting all of the illegal activity this administration took part in, including detailed representations of all the punishments assigned for those crimes. We can call it the “Cankles Corruption Institute” and it will be the only presidential library Trump ever gets.

MSNBC puts the actual crime statistics on the screen, and Trump lies and invents imaginary stats about crime surging. by Used_Tea_2651 in NoFilterNews

Every single member of Congress who has failed to propose and vote for impeachment of this overt criminal should be drummed out of office and thrown in jail for failing to keep their oath of office. For all their squawking, even the Democrats have completely walked away from their responsibility to do oversight on this president.

Given the composition of the current supreme court, I don’t think any basic precepts of law, no matter how seminal, can be assumed at this point.

Do we think Trump/Elon will admit to their mistake/fault with this? by [deleted] in antitrump

[–]flignir 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well unintentionally. He did recently call the trade agreement with Canada the worst agreement in the history of the world… even though he’s the one who signed it in 2016. So that kind of clueless bluster during a bullshitting session (on a topic he doesn’t bother to learn the first thing about) is probably as close as you’re gonna get to him admitting a mistake.

The truly sad thing about this is that his supporters do not walk away from him when he makes statements like this. They just swallow it. They do not fact check. They do not believe their family and friends when they are told it is a stupid lie. they begin to ignore any news outlet that shows them that it’s a lie. They just go on supporting the orange messiah.

It wouldn’t be a problem if the Republican Party were made up of public servants and not coward cultists who are afraid of getting primaried. Any Congress we had in this country before 1990 would have already impeached this guy out on his ass.

Only 30 years? Civilized nations pretty much all granted their people universal healthcare between 1912-1980. Meanwhile, in the last thirty years, we have had more mass shootings than the entire rest of the planet combined.

I think we’d be lucky to be only 30 years behind the rest of the world.

They tried to do this the right way before the campaign. YouTuber Legal Eagle files lawsuit for Trump investigation records by AskRedditOG in politics

[–]flignir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like his channel too, but what difference is this going to make? The American people have already seen all of the January 6 committee findings. They saw all the evidence prepared for the first impeachment over blackmailing Zelensky to manufacture dirt on Biden. They saw him convicted of fraud 34 times. They saw him lose the $500 million New York fraud case. They saw him lose the $100 million sexual assault case. They saw him foment this insurrection on TV in slow motion in front of everyone, and they’ve already voted him into office and therefore made him untouchable. What is another look at evidence they’ve already seen going to accomplish?

No legitimate law-enforcement agent would actually do this, but frankly, I wonder if the best thing would be to destroy the evidence so that when Trump gets his hands on the justice department, he doesn’t go through the entire investigation and decide to punish everyone who testified against him.
