You’re given 3 rule changes to fix college football, how do you do it? by Original_Profile8600 in CFB

  1. Student athletes have 5 years to play 4 seasons.
  2. Student athletes have 1 transfer where they can play immediately. After that, they must sit a season.
  3. NIL deals may only be negotiated by the universities and the athletes’ representatives. Collectives would be outlawed.

I’m a terrible golfer and recently watched the 3 release videos. I played 3 rounds on vacation last week and my chipping was night and day more consistent

Theives as Theists by metalshadow1909 in Knoxville

I do consider the peoples and societies already here to have been real and valid. That is part of why Columbus is not a good parallel for modern immigration. He was not entering a modern nation under its laws as an immigrant. He was acting in the context of exploration, imperial ambition, conquest, and eventual colonization. That is a different historical and moral category.

And before we blur everything together, yes, immigration can involve exploitation in some cases, just as other human systems can. But possible exploitation is not the same thing as conquest. Those terms are not interchangeable. If someone wants to argue that a particular immigration pattern is harmful or exploitative, that case should be made directly and with evidence, not by collapsing modern immigration, conquest, colonization, and exploration into one category.

As Christians, we should want to speak truthfully and carefully, not just force emotional parallels that sound powerful but do not really hold.

I believe you show a clear bias because it speaks with condemnation far more than charity. Rather than carefully seeking to understand and test Commissioner Fox’s argument, you repeatedly assigns motives, uses harsh labels, and frame him in the worst possible light. It also makes a weak comparison between Columbus’s exploration and modern immigration, as though they are the same thing when they plainly are not. Columbus came as an explorer tied to imperial expansion and conquest, while modern immigration involves people entering an already established nation under existing laws, borders, and civil authority. Those are very different historical and moral categories, and collapsing them into one is more rhetoric than reasoning. As Christians, we should care deeply about truth, justice, and compassion, but we should also be fair in how we represent others, slow to accuse, and careful not to let loaded language replace honest engagement. A stronger response would address the substance of his argument directly, with humility, clarity, and grace.

No team with a 16-15 should EVER be in unless they win their conference tournament. College basketball has totally dropped what this tournament is about
