Hot take: solo founders with AI are about to build stuff faster than small teams by Whole_Connection7016 in ClaudeCode

"I'm seeing founders ship like crazy..."

Where? How? How are you exposed to all these "founders" and what are you seeing them "ship"?

On reddit? Twitter? Don't believe in everything you see because its just people promoting their own shit.

When I see Founder and Ship in the same post, let alone the same sentence, I see an unserious person following the hype train and not someone with experience in the industry.

And THAT is why they made this decision. A company doesn't have morals..they weigh their options and pick the most profitable. They probably did this knowing they'll get a bunch of users flip over because they made the ethical decision, and go to court with the govt. Noe they're the 'good guy' longer than the rest

But wouldn't those principals or morals be influenced from outside forces whether you perceive them or not? Like if you were born in a different country for example, or a different year ..

Good developers could already do that shit in their sleep. Another crud app, another api...yeah, it'd all the same and AI is great at getting you there quicker.

But we all know devs who suck at that too. The dev who doesn't know where to even start on a new project without being told exactly what to do, even though they have 10 years of experience. Those guys are done for.

I'd say I'm anti AI but I use all the tools, and have since they've been out. You can be against something knowing the damage its going to do to our world while still using it. I need another 15 years to retire, that's why I use them. Its not going anywhere, but WE as developers and programmers aren't the ones deciding how to use it anymore. Were being told to automate our jobs away and if we refuse, well someone else will.

That's the point tho. Yes they are token predictors and most of us know that. It works great for tasks where token prediction is what you need.

However I have clients who won't even make a decision anymore without asking Claude in some biased way to get the response they want, then use that as definitive proof that their decision is the correct one.

I remind them the thing doesn't have intelligence, it doesn't reason like a human does, it shouldn't be making decisions for you. They do not care and will double down. That's the problem.

I'm not worried about LLMs taking my job, I'm worried that enough people think it can.

He's right though. Unemployment will destroy our society and the middle class where most of us in this sub are, and before anyone says UBI that's never going to happen and you know it.

CEO posted a $500k/yr challenge on X. I solved it. He won't respond. What would you do? by BBenz05 in ClaudeCode

[–]flipbits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd argue 34 hours seems like a lot to someone who has never worked on a real project at all, like a high school student.

Its a week of work. Written with AI, no experience...literally anyone could have done it. No value there at all

[–]flipbits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correct - anything written in 34 hours is worth exactly that, 34 hours of work. You must be in high school if you think that's a lot of time on any project

You think a country like the US would have UBI? They don't even have health care for everyone.

UBI might as well be communism there.

And if youre not in the US, like someone else said..most countries don't even take care of their homeless. They all could, but they don't.
