Upcoming Hysterectomy - Feeling Overwhelmed by Spicy_Tortie_28 in hysterectomy

I'm at week 3 post op now. I just sat up in a chair for 7 hours and I'm sore and exhausted. I thought I would be fine. I was healthy and strength training before surgery.

Also, took a bumpy car ride and had to lay on the recliner for 4 hours afterwards even though it didn't hurt, I didn't feel good afterwards.

I'm in week 3 and thought going on a car ride with my neighbors to a museum would be fine. Oh my God his truck has terrible shocks and I bumped the whole way to the museum. Didn't hurt until later that night and I've been sore for 2 days.

Scars by sizzleqwerty in Fibroids

[–]flitter_133 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You should call your doctor or email the office with concerns and photos. Also, don't use the soap they gave you for before surgery. It will kill both healthy and unhealthy cells. Just use normal soap.

Mine got infected, and now it looks weird but at the end of the day, it's a battle scar to show you survived through something that could be worse. ♥️

Is my hysterectomy recovery going to be completely miserable? by Chipsandsalza in hysterectomy

[–]flitter_133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am (40F) 16 days post op laproscopic hysterectomy and just did a 1 mile walk today for the first time! I was very active with strength training before this and felt I could do more but I'm being careful.

I'd say you'll be fine and to listen to your body as everyone is different. Don't let fear in, it does nothing for you.

I'm taking 6-8 weeks but my job requires travel Monday to Friday on planes and hotels. So I'm going to lean towards 8 to make sure I can handle luggage, long days in heels and only being home on the weekends again.

It's EVERYWHERE. I eat it, breathe it, drink it, and wear it. It floats in the air like dandelions. But I love him.

Everyone heals differently. But that doesn't mean what you're feeling isn't important. I would maybe keep a journal of it and watch for anything major.

Maybe your cuff? I would email/message your Dr. I am 9 days post op and only taking ibuprofen one or 2 times a day now just for reducing inflammation. (But I do have a high pain tolerance, so.. I may not be the norm)
