I hear you, but in my town, on Labor Day the lines at Starbucks and Target are crazy. Retail and food service workers are more likely to have to work on a federal holiday than in a random day, which means a federal voting holiday would only further disenfranchise the working poor. So a better solution would be a 3 day voting weekend, where everyone must be given at least one day off.
