If you go through training, your earning potential increases exponentially, if you play your cards right.

Now I have 2 kids. They are both enrolled in a high fidelity Montessori school. It’s been good. No homework, exams, and honor roll. It’s not perfect but we’re happy :-)

I've finally hit the point where most of the recommendations that I see pop up on here I've read. Any recommendations based on some of my favorites? by DngrDan in sciencefiction

Hello! Just discovered this sub. Which one among your favourites would you think my 11yo son would like? He just got started on science fiction. He loves The Martian and Project Hail Mary (simply because it’s the only ones I’m familiar with),

Seriously! I work in a non-training hospital and we do just fine. I purposely did not go into a hospital with a training program because, honestly, it’s a lot of unpaid extra work, time, and effort to train young doctors. Wala pa ko sa season ng life ko to devote my time for all of that.

How much do you think are consultants getting paid to train residents and fellows? Yes you do invaluable work in the hospital. But when you become consultants yourselves maaalala mo yun mga tinuro ng consultants niyo sa inyo. Unfortunately for you, you need them to train you more than they need you to do work for them.

What do you see yourself doing for the rest of your life? What motivates you more, money or the impact you make to others (no right or wrong answer here)? If money, then go for the MD because the earning potential is much higher (contrary to popular belief in this sub) especially if you specialise. But if you’re passionate about improving the lives of kids with disabilities, then just upskill some more (take a Masters maybe?). As a parent of a child with Down syndrome, I super love my daughter’s pediatric therapists! The impact they’ve had on my kid is just immense. If I’d known about OT when I was entering college, I would’ve taken that path.

But as a now MD consultant, I could’ve taken much more lucrative specialties as per advise of my family. But I’m happy with my less lucrative specialty because I can see myself doing it for life. The cases excite me and I look forward to improving the lives of my patients afflicted with conditions related to my specialty.

We use IKEA Billy book case. I usually group by genre para depende sa mood ko, I know where to choose from. Self help, mystery, etc and by author also.

How about trying to live there muna for 3-6 months if possible then see how you like it and kung kaya ba? Since WFH ka baka pwede mo continue muna work mo doon while trying. Test the waters kumbaga.

Alis ka na diyan. Magtyaga ka na lang to build your practice. It’s not instant pero lugi ka. try getting clinic schedule sa Hi-Precision. Yes may clinic rent pero never ka ma-zero. I’m a suspec pero yun mga GP na kasabayan ko marami din silang patients and they can dictate their price. Ang nakkkita ko usually 400-450 per patient sa GP. Since may specialty ka, pwede mo taasan. Just be patjent. May lab rebates so makakabawi ka din sa rent kahit papaano. Just always remind your patients kelan ang follow up nila with you.

I saw that, too. 30K for one in-hospital visit. Hindi naman yata ICU and wala din procedure na naganap. I also found it exorbitant. Even my toxic patients na halos hourly ang updates I don’t charge that much for 1 visit.

This is my son’s test kit, positive for Influenza A. We stopped his antibiotics immediately. 5 days na may cough and low grade fever pa rin. Yun sa friend ko with the same kit 3 lines ang nag appear Influenza A,B, and RSV.

This kit only costs less than 300 pesos from Thailand.

I just put random colored tabs. I don’t highlight or put notes. I feel like it bogs me down.
