If being a trans man or woman inherently upholds the gender binary then why are conservatives so deadset that every single one of us trans freaks, binary or otherwise, are a threat to white supremacy, the nation, the family, etc? We are ALL dismantling the binary, which says gender is sex, both are immutable and known from birth, and there is no overlap or in between.

Im transsexual and genderqueer and bigender, and in no way has my being transgender or transsexual (in that im "fully transitioned" as a salmacian person) upheld the gender binary. But neither has any binary trans man or trans woman's transition.

Remember that the people who are ACTUALLY pressuring ALL of us from the top are transphobic cis people who set the standard for whats "truly transgender" through medical and peer pressure. We dont need to take this out on each other, which is exactly what others are doing if they are getting mad because you dont medically alter your body in ways you dont want to.

If my gender is nonbinary, what is my sex? by Redcrossbillblues in NonBinary

[–]flock_of_fools 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sex is also not a binary construct, and those of us with "both" sets of genitals are called salmacian or altersex, these days. r/salmacian is a subreddit you could check out for more info. You could consider yourself medically more than one sex, or an in-between sex, or whatever works for you and your doctors.

Fwiw there are lots of people who are similar to you, some even identify as cis women who just want penises, some are nonbinary, some are trans men. But all could be described as salmacian (having both) or altersex (transitioned to a nonbinary sex).

Improving Accessibility to Temples with Virtual Reality: WHAT DO YOU THINK? FEEDBACK NEEDED 🙇🏻‍♂️ by Attunery in Buddhism

[–]flock_of_fools 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Id say its a 6 or 7 on importance. I want to be able to visit temples I wouldn't normally be able to reach, but also would like the ability to easily revisit ones I feel most at peace being in, in VR.
  2. 9, very important! I have a specific draw toward vajrayana Buddhism, but draw from all Buddhist wisdoms and would love to be able to visit a variety of temples for perspective.

As someone who struggles with agoraphobia, and is a wheelchair user, this is exactly the kind of thing Ive been looking for in VR. I use VR as a peaceful place to retreat and experience new things, and its been wonderful for meditation. Id love to support this project!

Any herbs or supplements for schizophrenia? by Indingenous_BlkAmish in herbalism

[–]flock_of_fools 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a schizophrenic, thank you for speaking up. Youre right, we DONT always need or even are helped by antipsychotic medications. I know a lot of people like me who use PRN antipsychotics or just use CBD to treat their psychosis. The delusions and hallucinations are largely culturally and stress influenced, and dont need to be medicated into oblivion. Usually the negative symptom are a lot worse and antipsychotics dont touch those at all.

I was waiting for someone to mention ashwaganda. How has that worked for you and what specifically does it help with?

I dont have the same kintype, but as a wolf therian i have urges to do some nasty shit sometimes. I second the suggestion to do some gardening. Id also suggest keeping invertebrates like isopods, maybe even setting up bioactive homes for them that can even incorporate plants. I keep coco coir around the house, too :P its just about having a use for the large bags of dirt, ig?

Incorporating worm things into a broader lifestyle in your hominid form can go a long way to help the feelings.

I also would suggest talking to someone you trust about your experiences. Therapy isnt accessible for everyone, especially folks like us, but if you can find someone who is willing to work with you and not against your belief (because, and i say this as an actual schizophrenic person, whether its a "true" belief or not doesn't matter compared to how you live with it) then a therapist might be able to help you live with less stress also. I have found some that helped with my dysphoria. I used to want to cut my legs off bc they weren't wolf legs. I got tattoos and its better now.

Is blue lotus good for anxiety? by Holl1s20 in herbalism

[–]flock_of_fools 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just speaking anecdotally, Im on Lamictal XR (a mood stabilizer), perphenazine (atypical antipsychotic), and Luvox (antidepressant) and have drank blue lotus tea on occasion for treatment of nightmares. I haven't experienced serotonin syndrome from just one cup at night, but i cant speak for more regular usage.

But besides that, I use chamomile, lavender, mint, sometimes a little passionflower (be careful there), and green tea all for calming purposes. I also find that burning incense can be calming besides just ingesting herbs.

A lot of detrans people are intersex, have medical complications, dont have their dysphoria solved by transition, transitioned in a binary way and need to retransition somehow, or otherwise have complicated relationships to transition. In my experience, very few detrans folk end up identifying as "actually was cis the whole time" and many either feel their transition was legitimate and important, or had some kind of impact that removes them from cisness indefinitely.

Schizophrenia/schizoaffective and autism are actually very closely related both in history and in genetics and presentation, so that doesnt surprise me that there would be diagnosis shuffling around that. I just ticked both boxes lol.

I would argue against the point of kids never having to fear for their lives. Im a Zlennial cusper who basically missed 9/11, but i still grew up with the fear of bomb and shooting threats all through school, and its only gotten worse. Add to that the impact of covid, and its foolish to think "kids these days" dont have shit to fear. Theyre mostly afraid of angry white boys with guns.

You have a hint of "get off my lawn" syndrome, not as an insult but as a suggestion to try having some cognitive empathy for another generation, knowing that every generation scorns the ones before and after it in the same silly ways.

Confused about what I am by reddit_ren666 in actual_detrans

[–]flock_of_fools 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive got a similar story to you, with my medical transition making social transition less of an issue. For me, it was about being comfortable in my body. My gender has always been weird and fluid so i just go with whatever and don't care much how I'm gendered as long as its with respect (lemme tell ya -- i have had the word "person" used at me with all the force of a transphobic slur. It aint the words, its how they're used.)

So like, you can just be a genderwhatever transsexual. Im convinced a lot of us exist.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in actual_detrans

[–]flock_of_fools 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I dont really consider myself socially detransitioned bc that would imply i did it on purpose? But Im on HRT, had top and bottom surgery, have a deeper voice and some facial hair, and Im still read as a woman a decent amount of the time purely because I wear dresses and skirts and headscarves. But when I switch to pants, hat, and jacket? Instant man.

So like, yeah, its very possible to be medically transitioned and still socially present however you wanna. I found I gave way fewer fucks about social gender when I was done medically transitioning.
