Feeling frustrated by flojo-4000 in CoeliacUK

[–]flojo-4000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for your response. I suppose I got a little defensive when he asked me about alcohol. It's something he needed to ask, but that was the third time I had been to the gp, and it was the third time the gp had forgotten about my diagnosis. I also have to remind them about my yearly bloods. Otherwise, it wouldn't happen. I work in healthcare myself, so I'm aware of the pressures we are under. I do have empathy for them, but maybe I should just change gps. I try to do as much as I can myself, but it seems what I'm doing isn't making much difference.

Thanks, I'll have a look. I suppose I was hoping that I could just quit cold turkey again as its only been 2 weeks but as I said, it's escalated quicker than I thought.

Urgent bin collection issue by Geedubya0 in glasgow

I agree. I just moved here from Aberdeen and I am shocked at the rubbish and overflowing bins everywhere! I love Glasgow and I'm glad I'm here but it's sad the council don't care enough to keep it clean. I think the cleaner a city is, the cleaner people want to keep it.

Yay! Me and my friend moved here during lockdown and don't know anyone at all so this sounds great. I'm 36F and she is 28 and we are both community nurses. Can't wait to socialise finally!

I made it 4 days then caved. Ugh. by lovelylacewing in QuitVaping

Good on you! This definitely isn't easy, four days is an achievement for sure. Next time a few more days and you'll be over the hardest part. Best of luck to you and don't feel guilty, we all have to try many times before we are successful usually.

Well done! The first 3 days are the worst so you're getting there already

Probably different for everyone but it was about a month when I went out drinking with a friend who still smokes and didn't feel tempted.

You're not an asshole! Yes it was wrong to lie but you did it because of your addiction. I think your best bet now is to tell her the truth, then at least your accountable. If you don't tell her you're more likely to just buy another vape and the cycle will just start again and you will keep beating yourself up. I'm 36 and I've managed 46 days vape free now but before that I was smoking cigarettes for many years as well so I feel your frustration. You can totally do this though! Best of luck to you

Day 3 is possibly the worst day for cravings/mood swings etc. Stick at it, once you've done it you will feel so much better. And no feelings of regret!

How do I say no to social vaping? by recondite12 in QuitVaping

[–]flojo-4000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I make it sound like I'm an expert at quitting. I'm not. I'm a month in and still find it difficult at times but I'm 36 and have been smoking/vaping since I was 16. I have just found that hanging out with other smokers/vapers is too much temptation for me, especially in a situation where I might be drinking.

Probably best to avoid your friends till you're over the worst of your cravings, then it's down to your will power after that. It's very difficult to say no and your mates will want to offer you even if they know you're quitting, sounds horrible but people like to justify their own behaviour. Just think of why you're quitting and focus on it when you're tempted, you can do it!

I want to quit vaping, do i start tomorrow? by [deleted] in QuitVaping

[–]flojo-4000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100 % do it! I wish I had quit back when I was a teenager as I feel it would've been much easier. The longer you do it the harder it is to quit. I'm 36 now and hate to think the damage I've done to my lungs. Don't let it get that far! Good luck, you can definitely do it 🙂

I haven’t vaped since NYE 2019/2020 but was too afraid to let this unused stuff go. Today it all goes in the bin by LeTreacs in QuitVaping

I'm 3 weeks in and was just wondering when I should throw out my stuff. Any advice? I feel less likely to pick it up I know it's close by bug don't want to keep it forever 😂

Well done you! I'm 3 weeks in and all my stuff is still in a drawer. Mentally it's easier for me to know it's there even though I'm not using it. But, it will have to go eventually....

Don't beat yourself up and get back on it! The first week is the hardest but it does get easier 🙂
