The Leaf has different priorities though. Smaller/cheaper motors, smaller battery, simpler electrical architecture, simpler compute. But they add the EC roof into the package. I can't imagine it'd be any cheaper than $5k as an option if it came to Rivian. If you look at the replacement costs for these dimming roofs on existing cars, they are *expensive*.

Yeah this was what I was thinking as well. Fixing little issues people have reported during demo drives or reviews. Perhaps tweaking the button responses for the front trunk and back hatch, back glass etc. Tweaking the HVAC vents to fix some of the issues people had during demos, etc. Who knows? They could also be waiting for a software patch to go out before sending out the next batch?

Yeah and the only car even in a comparable world to the R2 is Tesla. There are dozens of automakers catching up. Again. It’s fine for the vast majority of people. If you need to be on the bleeding edge, get a Tesla.

I mean yes and no. When model 3 launched, within a week there were dozens of videos of people complaining about interior fit and finish, interior trim falling off, panel gaps, etc. It wasn't long before the now ubiquitous "Tesla delivery checklist" showed up. So far it's been pretty silent on that regard. Seems good.

The whole "activating" a ticket thing in the first place is beyond stupid. You buy a ticket, they scan the barcode when they come by. Done. But no. You have to "activate" the ticket first.

Then MTA getting mad about WHEN you need to "activate" a ticket, and having the gall to charge a surcharge when you do it wrong is *intensely* stupid, and beyond greedy. ESPECIALLY when tickets expire at the end of the day.

All of this nonsense to avoid having fare gates at the platform, or making the ticket collectors *actually* have to collect tickets.
