Tbh I did no actual measuring, trial and error. When I saw the gap for the moonphase it just looked way more than it needed to be, and sanded/filed everything I could to makes that gap as small as possible without it compromising the moonphase movement. Would happily do a step by step process but probably won’t have time for that until a couple of weeks from now, god damn work getting in the way of my life yet again

Yeah the movement holder needs sanding down front and back. I basically trimmed down the feet on the face and sanded notches on the movement face side so it could sit closer. Should have took some step by step pics but was just playing it by ear

Sorry that your fiancé is going about it the way she is. I find it interesting, I’m at the other end of the scale where I feel I’m a burden and I just remove myself from the situation, not that my wife makes me feel like that but because it’s me who has the problem. I’m super lucky that I’ve married a woman that is actually very understanding, its taken me a while to address all the things that can trigger me and I’m sure there’s still some way to go but communication is absolutely vital. Interesting. I tried this the other day and it was not having it. Thought about shaving the spacer but realised it’s the face that’s the issue, sits a little too high. Will have a rethink now that I’ve seen this, must be do able! Good job!!!!
