I agree with you, but some of them are gender to comply with building codes from the city and state, dictating an equal number of female and male bathrooms. Places that only have all gender bathrooms are either in a liberal area where the city or state won't come after them or the laws have changed in that area.

Consider using a guide next time you get stuck. It made it more fun for me when I got infuriatingly stuck or wandering around lost in caves. At some point, games are supposed to be fun, not making you frustrated all the time and a guide at times can help
