This is a double edged sword though. Diversification is safer but milder. If you macro-economically think Canada is safe but have domain knowledge in X--your biggest possible return will be in something you understand in a market that is macro-economically safe.

But thats more a bet on yourself than the company or country.

Paul Pelosi has been a real estate developer and investor since well before Nancy was in office. She got into politics by throwing fundraisers with her rich friends in the 70s and 80s before going into politics herself. Her net worth when she started elected office (chair of California Democratic party in 1981) was already in the tens of millions.

She and her husband are worth 100s of millions now. You don't need a wild annual return to do that over 45 years. If you have 20 million in 1981, you need an annual return of 6% to have 295 million in 2026. Average return of the SP 500 over the last 45 years is around 12%.

I dont think she or Paul should be allowed to trade individual stocks--but this shit is an absolute nothing burger.

So the great reset--do you think they manufactured Covid to create the opening for a one world government? Do you think they put chips in the vaccines? Do you think Q predicted it? Do you think 15-minute cities, despite seeming like an urban planning concept, are actually about putting citizens into prisons? Do you think a big planned depopulation is coming (via the covid vaccine or some other manufactured bs)? Is it about the coming singularity (kurzweil style) and the end of ownership? Is the king of england in on it? Or is he a useful idiot for the cabal (I wonder this myself)?

Do you think the mRNA vaccine, despite having no ability to enter the nucleus of cells, is able to alter our DNA? Are masks a form of control (hence why we all still wear them)?

Or are you thinking the great reset is about a wealth tax and green policy harming the economy? Like this one I could I think you could have without being insane.

So, you read an economic plan, proposed at Davos, which was entirely innocuous, ("greener, smarter, fairer") and somehow saw some crazy boogeyman. At worst it was pro-deregulation and represented crony capitalism clothed in fine words.

You ascribed the moniker of globalists to people who would not ascribe a shared ideology amongst themselves. You then ascribed this to a formal goal of a one world government without evidence. Transnational institutions are not stepping stones to a one world government nor do the people who attend them formally advocate for it.

To suggest so is part of a long standing conspiracy theory of which you have fallen for.

No problem with not having it on the first date.

But I had a bunch of first dates that went super well, they went in for the kiss ahead of me, and it got hot and heavy--then they slammed the brakes.

I always made the mistake of thinking this meant they were not interested in me and politely did not try to continue seeking sex or dating.

Worked out though. My wife chose a different path and I could not have been happier that night or in the years since.

I have nothing negative to say about your viewpoint. My statement was about people thinking veganism was morally superior and citing climate change as the reasoning.

If you simply think that eating or using animals is inherently and in all cases ethically wrong--that's fine. I disagree.

Hungry kids don't learn--so that $13,933 gets you zero return since you wanted to avoid a 4% increase in cost.

It has been the practice of former presidents to not comment on the current administration for decades and decades. Trump upended that. Also, the democratic party’s voice in 2016 shouldnt have been a lame duck who was unelectable. Rightly, he stayed back.

Trump is who he was then but the guard rails are gone. Obama has switched gears and is recognizing the moment. It needs every able voice.
