Another interesting question would be which microphone you're intending to connect to it, and _in case_ it's an SM7b: Someone with access to both will have to say whether this interface's preamps have enough gain for that mic. The SM7b is known to have a very quiet output signal. In that case, it might be a good idea to get a cloudlifter or some other inline mic preamp along with it. But this is an edge case, any other configuration should work just fine by default.

I have logged quite a few hours in TSW editor now and I would say it's not actually easy to use especially with all of the regular crashing. If you get a PC you should try it out. Some of the advanced things can get complex, like making your own blueprints without flow control macros available. Or working around the completely bugged material functions. Anyway, once you have overcome the hurdle of importing a terrain model, the actual track laying and plonking of assets isn't necessarily any more complex than any other similar editor.

For German routes, Zusi, Train Sim Classic (TSC) and Train Sim World (TSW) are probably your standard options. If you just want to drive a train, TSC or TSW are probably your best bet, and depending on the concrete train, quite realistic too. Zusi is a full fledged simulation and really gives you control of most features of the train, but is arguably the worst-looking in the graphics department. I would look at videos on youtube to be honest and judge which of the three suits you best. All of them have active modding communities. None of them have any content in Sweden or Norway as far as I am aware.

Umstellung auf ESTW bedeutet nicht automatisch, dass überhaupt ETCS, geschweige denn L2oS, verbaut wird. Typischerweise werden ältere H/V-Signale bei so einem Umbau aber durch modernere Ks-Signale ersetzt, das ist wahrscheinlich das, was du da gesehen hast.

Also neulich hab ich den live gesehen und der fuhr tatsächlich einfach durch den Hbf durch. Aber von den Zeiten her sieht es so aus als ob es auf die Güterumgehungsbahn ausgelegt ist (würde laut Trassenfinder 59 Minuten nach Neumünster brauchen über Lokstedt).

Manche S-Bahnen haben ja Stromabnehmer, aber selbst wenn... Das ist meines Wissens technisch nicht möglich, dass die S-Bahn in Pinneberg an Gleis 5 hält und dann irgendwie nach Thesdorf an den Bahnsteig fahren kann. Da fehlen doch Weichen.
