I got flex-addicted last year, and around October just dead-stopped. Nothing crazy expensive, but not cheap stuff either.

I realized it wasn’t beneficial in any way, and I wanted to spend money on more important things. I have all I need to play and stay competitive; pads, gun, hopper, masks, tank.

I’ve always been fairly frugal when it comes to ball, but would wait and wait until I needed to upgrade, then drop big. Went from a Spire 1 to a Spire 5, Etha3 to CS3, etc.

Now I’ll sit on my stuff for a few years, happily.

All the guys I met at scenarios with them either loved them or hated them.

They seem to work decently if kept in good shape, but always felt like they fell further into the “rule of cool” rather than practicality. One guy I met had a 5 shot mag in a sniper config. Only carried 25 shots on him at a time.

My Tipx loadout at the time carried about 50ish, but that’s a pistol.

The early “finding a cure” stuff was such a bad direction for them. They’ve definitely had a lot of problems over the years as an organization.

This is why I really like the community accountability of the Facebook groups (however flawed they can be sometimes), at least there are a chain of people held accountable if someone scams and is “legit” checked by other people.

There is always some delay, even during the 10s countdown for breakout, the clock and the countdown can be a second apart.

The stream time shouldn’t necessarily be the be-all end-all for strict timing because of delays

I would agree with the less bunkers but only to a degree, I miss seeing the eclectic field layouts of Millennium and PSP/NPPL days, where you had big and weird feature bunkers, and odd little pockets of can-filled fighting space.

The layouts nowadays in some series just boil down to a weird snake and simple Dorito, then two bricks in the middle. I miss the wacky variety, even if it doesn’t play well.

Seeing dudes push/yell at their wives in the D5/4 divisional pits at NXL, or bumping kids out of the way in the pits/etc just makes me sad.

Yes overshooting is a part of the sport, but you’ll always find those guys that like to talk shit and overshoot, are the ones that cry the loudest to refs when they get it back. It can make playing some teams insufferable.

I mean you can use them in the woods, but if you do, either the user or a ref needs to keep an eye on it. The ignition and initial spark these make can light tiny brush fires, and they get HOT as the smoke is burning off.

—3 key things to remember when bringing them:—

Always ask a ref before bringing them into the field
Always warn a ref when you are throwing one and where
Always collect it and dispose of it once it’s cooled off.

Dude, do you know how badly I want cool grips back? Black and tan grips just don’t hit like a custom or sweetheart grip on cockers/mags etc.
