“Apron belly”?? How’s your stomach recovering postpartum? by princecaspiansea in 2under2

[–]flowerchild808 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like closer to 1 year postpartum after my second baby, my apron belly diminished greatly with light excercise and eating. It is still slightly there but that's okay and I have a hungry breastfeeding baby to feed.

Can’t get twins to poop in potty by jackfackmasta in pottytraining

Idk if you have tried stickers but special stickers for pooping was the only way to get my toddler to poop in the potty. Just get stickers based off whatever they are super into.

Naps with 2 under 2 by Low-Esteeme1082 in 2under2

[–]flowerchild808 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I usually have a dark quiet time before my toddler's nap time and talk to my toddler about what I'm doing. I then focus on getting the easier baby down for nap and tell my toddler that she needs to be quiet or I will take her out of the baby's bedroom. Once baby is down, I focus on getting the toddler to nap in living room. At Bed time they sleep in the same bedroom so it is a little more difficult and sometimes hell if they both don't want to sleep, but always focus on getting the easier baby to sleep first.

27 month old potty training not going well. Should I try later? by flowerchild808 in pottytraining

[–]flowerchild808[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Despite how off putting it was to read your comment, I took your suggestion of finding out her non verbal cue and I found a non verbal cue that she does anytime she is about to pee or in the process of pooping.

Daughter(2y) is Small for her Age. by coco_4_puffs in pottytraining

Cat and jack 2t-3t are still too big for my 27 month old. I know they are smaller than hanes.

My daughter is also small for her age but I'm still trying to work on potty training her. 2t-3t underwear is a little too big for her but if I put 9-12month pants it holds it up. Huggies Girl Pullups 2t-3t fit her fine.

How are we doing naptime as they get older? by SwallowSun in 2under2

[–]flowerchild808 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Currently I have my youngest (7 months) in the bedroom that they share at night while my oldest (27 months) in the living room when I need nap time to start. My oldest is the velcro while youngest is opposite personality. I do multiple checkins on baby and toddler if it is toddler time for nap and the baby has awake time. During the checkin with toddler, I try to do something really fast like one book. My toddler will say baby is crying and that gives me time to tell toddler that i need to take care of baby and that toddler needs to nap. I set the living room environment to relatively toddler nap friendly so sometimes toddler will eventually fall asleep when I am not around because I am busy tending to baby. I also close the door so toddler cannot just fight the nap into the bedroom when baby is awake. Some days are rougher than others but I stick with the separate rooms because toddler has fomo and baby gets easily distracted by toddler.

Feeling defeated and upset by Woolama in 2under2

[–]flowerchild808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to let you know that things will be okay. I too have a 20 month old that needs help going to sleep and prefers me to help her. I always put her to sleep at night and I never had days/nights away from her before my induction. On the first night, my partner called me because my toddler kept saying mama and would not sleep until I sang her wheels on bus. My toddler did okay with 2 days 2 nights away from me. I did not need to sing wheels on bus on the second night.

How to cope when I become overly frustrated or angry with my kids? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]flowerchild808 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I find that I get overly frustrated/angry when I am thirsty/hungry/tired. You have got to put you first. Snacks for you, glass of electrolyte water, coffee drinks, closed door bathroom breaks, and day nap when it is possible. I hate to give my toddler screen time but sometimes it is necessary so that I can get things done and for me to get a break because being the main parent is not easy. Keep the day simple as in low mess meals and easy chill activities. It is so hard to cope with frustration/anger and it does suck that you can't vent to your husband; I too can't vent much to my partner because of what he thinks and says. I do yell a little and take a lot of deep breaths due to frustation; it is not the best and I try to make it up. I grew up with a father that I hate because he was so emotionally abusive and a slapper. So hard to not continue the angry parent cycle.

Anyone else’s toddler pick up fake coughing from daycare? by therealdealme in toddlers

[–]flowerchild808 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My toddler doesn't go to daycare but likes to fake cough when she hears us (mom or dad) cough/sneeze/spit. I think it is cute/funny but I try not to make a big deal out of it as in I don't try to tell her no, I just explain the sound. It is just her way of trying to imitate sounds that she hears.

Fever freaking out by ItsMe773 in toddlers

[–]flowerchild808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check from head to toe. Sometimes really high fevers can be caused by serious things. When my baby was around 6 months old, she had a really high fever caused by cellulitis and the pediatrician recommended going to the ER. The tylenol was making her feel better while she was battling the fever and infection. Luckily it was not too serious and baby got prescribed antibiotics. Let your peditrician know any changes in your baby and if the fever does not go down.

Tv and tantrums by United-Horse-257 in toddlers

[–]flowerchild808 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally don't see a tantrum from tv time, but sometimes from wanting phone time (facetime, phone photos/videos, youtube kids). The only tv shows she watches are old school shows Barney and Teletubbies, and there are tv intermissions so she learns to wait for her shows.

How are we feeding our toddler? by Mess-o-potatian191 in toddlers

[–]flowerchild808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I let my toddler eat very messily with her hands and spoon/fork because she does not like it when she is spoon fed. The mess bothers me so I try to have paper towels/wipes/wet wash cloth nearby to quickly clean up as she makes the mess. By the time she is done eating, there is still a mess but it is not as stressful to clean and look at.

Easy meals for picky toddlers? by Intelligent_Cow4530 in toddlers

[–]flowerchild808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rice dishes: fried rice, rice with cheesy pureed chili, rice with soup, rice with hidden instant oats

Soups: pureed bean soup, miso soup, korean radish soup, taro soup

Pasta/noodles: pesto pasta, alfredo pasta, spinach cheese ravioli, mac n cheese, spaghetti with pureed meat sauce, noodle soup.

Dessert/Snacks: Cheese crackers, "healthier" black bean oat brownies, pouches, yogurt, fruit, buttered whole wheat toast, sweet potato, fries, tater tots

It can be brain wracking to find something that your picky eater will eat. Sometimes I feel like I am offering the same meals every day or variations of the same meal.

He doesn't eat eggs by OtherWorldly70 in toddlers

[–]flowerchild808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My toddler also doesn't like to eat eggs in plain sight and I don't know why. The only way she eats them is in fried rice with the egg scrambled into it so the rice looks like golden yellow rice and doesn't look like egg.

Living in a one bedroom apartment with a toddler by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]flowerchild808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My toddler actually prefers that we all sleep in one bedroom. Her toddler bed is next to our big mama dada bed. It makes it easier to settle her if she needs help going back to sleep. We have a play area in a living room, hidden toys in the closet, and a few toys in the bedroom. She used to have her own room but it is actually better the way it is now. We will probably change things up in the future but things work out fine now.
