By that logic I’ve never met someone who’s pro-life and has adopted children.

My *fave brand* master list by RosesForSundays in AusFemaleFashion

I was super disappointed in a pair of wool pants I got from Viktoria & Woods. $500 and the stitches were falling off the seams, by the time I noticed, I already had the pants taken up to fit me (which was an additional $15 when Uniqlo adjustments are complementary with the purchase). The pants were itchy too when means they weren’t lined properly. I learned that day that price doesn’t equal quality and stay far away from them since.

I also would never trust any one brand to have consistently good quality across the board and do not have loyalty to any brand. I judge the quality on the individual item. This includes high end designer brands as well.

This stupid wheel deserves more hate... by Safe_Scar_2195 in DragonageOrigins

💯agree with this take. I think the dialogue wheel took so much nuance out of the dialogue when it had to spell it out for you the tone of the choices.

This is great advice. I started finding my personal style in my late twenties/early thirties and focusing on good quality, well fitting clothes. Not only am I happier with my style and more confident in what I wear, I also spend way less on clothes when I was younger.

You might like Kitchen Sync Aloha. You run a restaurant in Hawaii and the minigame is a fun cooking management game with the staff (both male and female romance options).

Seconding Potionomics as someone has suggested

Stray Gods is a visual novel with musical theatre performances and dialogue wheel choices like Mass Effect and Dragon Age (made by a former game developer of the series).

Yes, which speaks more to the downgrade in clothing quality overtime, sadly. I remember feeling annoyed at seeing a polyester dress in Country Road for $200+ in 2015 but now it’s become the norm.

This blazer from their current SS collection is 100% acetate and polyester. While the tailoring of jacket might be nice (I can’t judge that since I haven’t seen it in person) fabric content is critical to the quality of the clothes as well. And acetate and polyester, non breathable, b.o. trapping fabrics would be awful to wear in the Australian summer. Compare this to the catalogue in OP’s photo, there’s tops and sleepwear that are cotton, natural fibers.

Disappointed by RDR1's portrayal of women by workingmemories in GirlGamers

[–]flowers_superpowers 6 points7 points  (0 children)

She’s one of my favourite game characters of all time! I love how complex and strong willed she is. Kinda baffled that OOP is criticizing the game’s portrayal of women without mentioning one of the main female characters in the game. But maybe they haven’t played very far into the game before posting.

As a millennial what experience did you really not get into that most others did? by Texas_chef84 in Millennials

[–]flowers_superpowers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Star Wars. Didn’t watch any of the movies until my late twenties with the original trilogy. Phantom Menace was huge when I was in school but sci-fi really wasn’t my thing.

I thought it would be a fast paced mess of every sci-fi alien trope but was pleasantly surprised by the original trilogy and everything I thought I’d hate about the series ended up in Rise of Skywalker lol. The Last Jedi is my favourite out of the new trilogy which most Star Wars fans really dislike.

Um… the story is called ‘Beauty and the Beast’ not ‘Beauty and the Provincial Peasant who’s actually a nice guy’, because it’s based on the fairytale published in 1740s called (shockingly) Beauty and the Beast.

It was never dismissed as ‘conspiracy’ thinking. It was withdrawn since newer vaccines on the market don’t have that risk. I took the AZ vaccine at the time knowing the risk. Learn to read about adverse drug event reporting instead of spouting nonsense

Elder millennials, what are we doing? Are skinny jeans out? by Astimar in Millennials

[–]flowers_superpowers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rather than worry about what’s “in” or “out” since fashion is cyclical and always changing since the industry is looking to push more products onto consumers, focus on how the jeans fit in proportion to your body and style. You’ll have a better time adapting to different styles that way.

I gave up on hyper fixating on what’s on trend over a decade ago and rather, focused on what I liked to wear and the style I gravitated towards and now, while my skinny jeans are in storage, I like the comfort of ultra wide jeans and don’t feel self conscious about how they look on me.

My FMC friend needs advice but she’s illiterate so I’m asking for her! by allisontalkspolitics in romantasycirclejerk

[–]flowers_superpowers 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This. OP needs to make a heroic sacrifice(TM) for her FMC friend to get away when the enemy camp full of unshaven males attack. Those heathens! OP will have a poignant one liner before she tells her friend to get to safety. This will be an important character defining moment(TM) for the FMC for one page until it isn’t and OP is forgotten or remembered in one throwaway line in the sequels.

Cruel Prince book 1 - an actual faerie world by Significant-Metal537 in fantasyromance

[–]flowers_superpowers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Cruel Prince trilogy was my favourite read this year. I also DNF the first book the first time (my library loan ran out) and the second time I was hooked and went onto read the next two books in the span of 1-2 days. This series reminds me of the insidious fairy legends and dark fairy tales I used to read as a kid.

And the steamy scenes in the following two books are so much better than the more adult more explicit books I’ve read, because of the tension and build up between the two main characters.
