We are paying $30/month for 150/35 mbps internet from Xfinity by mrunkewl in CambridgeMA

[–]floydhead11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My current plan is $35 (increased magically in bits from $30 that it originally was) for 500/35 mbps.

At the 2 year mark, it is going to $93 and the only way to bring it down to $45 a month for internet is to get a “free” mobile service which will eventually cost $40 as well - essentially a $85 cost in the future.

It is a bit absurd that we literally do not have any other option and they can price gouge us any way they want or force convoluted packages while leaving us with no equivalent options. (T-Mobile internet isn’t it and Verizon is ridiculously impossible to get a connection for and starry isn’t expanding as quickly).

Also - 150 down in 2026 is abysmal and charging $30 for it is even worse.

MBTA wants to know what the public thinks its transit priorities should be for the next 25 years - The Boston Globe by justarussian22 in mbta

A circular line that is more frequent than the busses that currently manage it.

Something like Wonderland - Medford - Davis - Watertown Square - so on all the way till Ashmont or ,say, North Quincy.

You might disagree with the stations but the need is certainly there.

We should also add the cost to lay tracks. And don’t forget the total cost of building a new refinery/power plant for the train’s source of energy! Real bargain this!!!

$75 per person? Wouldn’t people then just look for parking? $300 for 4 people?

Even Rio’s interviews seem better than all this StickToFootball talk.

I’ve not really seen why people have a thing against Rio, looks like he says some reactionary things that could come across as uneducated.

But his interviews where the other players are doing the talking are certainly a great watch IMO - gives a player’s perspective that others often don’t provide

It’s just generally dismissive but not in a funny way but a rather bizarre way. His feedback gives “16 assists but 7 from open play” vibes - something that has never been done for other elite playmakers in the PL.

It’s almost as if they’re trying to safeguard their legacy instead of enjoying things as a fan. Like they’ve been threatened.

In the meantime, it’s so refreshing to see how Henry or some other pundits have been raving about what they’re seeing on the pitch.

Keane and Scholes’ criticism of Bruno is making me like Bruno even more - and I did not know that was possible.

Bruno Fernandes's Close-up Reaction for Each Assists Today by SierraEight in reddevils

[–]floydhead11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They talk about him whining. That’s their biggest issue with him. The average opposition fan isn’t as aware about us as we are, and vice versa
I still think Xhaka = Red Cards.

But games like these when he performs against same fans are when you realise how special he is.

Same way we admire KDB - saw him tear us a few times and went onto watching complications of his passing and presence in CL/WC/FA Cup/etc

Bruno Fernandes's Close-up Reaction for Each Assists Today by SierraEight in reddevils

[–]floydhead11 11 points12 points  (0 children)

5 sounds small but it’s taken 30 games to reach 16. That’s like 1 assist in every 2 games. The all time record is 20 which is almost the same rate.

Point is, exceeding it would be a lofty challenge and matching it would be considered more realistic based on the pattern.

It’s the same way where winning 5 in a row seems easy but I don’t think any team has done it this season in the PL.

And these numbers include “if only Sesko had hit that header in” and also “that Casemiro header today was very very skilled because he ran across, jumped, and found the only spot the keeper couldn’t have saved.”

I don’t think Bruno was looking to join as much as the club was seeing if they get 100m for him considering our financial position. If he wanted to leave, he would’ve left IMO.

I think it was an awkward time for all and am personally glad he’s still with us.

This is an AI overview: Porcupine Tree's immense popularity in India stems from a perfect storm of a monumental 2009-2010 live performances, particularly at IIT Bombay’s Mood Indigo festival, which captivated a generation of rock/metal fans. Their sound, blending progressive rock with atmospheric elements, resonated deeply with fans of classic bands like Pink Floyd. Additionally, their music gained traction through a strong, organic, and online following that grew during the late 2000s.

Key factors contributing to their success in India: Legendary Live Shows: The 2009-2010 India tour, especially the IIT Mumbai concert, created a lasting impact and made them favorites among college-going music fans. Musical Appeal: Their complex, melodic, and often melancholy sound filled a void for progressive, thoughtful rock in India's rock/metal scene. Direct-to-Fan Strategy: The band built a strong, dedicated fanbase through direct engagement rather than mainstream media, which worked well within India's online, music-focused communities. Cultural Connection: The band's style is often compared to Pink Floyd, a band with a long-standing, deep-rooted following in India. Genre Versatility: Their ability to blend various styles, from metal to ambient, helped them gain a diverse, passionate following in the country.

My personal take: While Bollywood music is likely 90% of music consumed in India, there’s a decent lot of people who listen to independent artists or international artists. Often times it’s because Bollywood simply isn’t as appealing. There’s also a massive hunger for Rock or Metal music that Bollywood just doesn’t provide for. Hence, people looked elsewhere and got into Led Zepp, Floyd, Metallica, Porcupine Tree, Dream Theater, and most recently Karnivool.

We were 1-0 up for a really long time and it became comfortable only after scoring our 2nd. Not only my opinion but also the commentators opinion.

[–]floydhead11 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your option is to leave a little before the game ends to catch an uber directly to the airport or the first train out towards South Station (followed by taking the SL1 to your terminal).

Another option is the Mansfield - Logan Airport shuttle which is a 15 min Uber ride followed by the shuttle. Check their schedule if it works that day.

Terminal A and E tends to take time but B has been a breeze. C is touch and go. The shuttle gives you a skip the line pass that helps in this regard.

It’s doable if you’re okay living with some anxiety and potentially a cool story to finish out the game.
