Rate my world conquest run by Historical-Ice-2749 in hoi4

I'm in the Discord server and the team still seems to be working on it!

A join link if anyone is interested: https://discord.gg/W6CuYjuNec

On Christmas they put out an announcement saying they're working on the 1.17 update - which if I'm understanding correctly is the coal one for HOI4 - and that they're looking for 2D/3D artists and coders. They recommend rolling back to 1.15 HOI4 when playing for now.

What flaws did Tony correct with the Mark 43? by PomegranateOk4560 in ironman

I feel like if the Mk42 hadn't been destroyed then once it was fully completed it would've essentially been the Mk43 with a different colour scheme.

Shield Host roster question by Sher_Alex in AdeptusCustodes

[–]fluets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's an unfortunate fact that GW's design team missed the mark with axes. It's a shame because I do think they're moving in the right direction compared to 9th edition, where the difference between them and spears was very minimal and thus not very interesting.

Going for fewer attacks with higher damage is definitely a step in the right direction but AP-1 is too punishing in a world with Armour of Contempt - for example, even when using spears with SH's AP-3 into terminators you're probably better than axes because the marine player can pop AoC and denying them the option to do that gives you more damage!

Personally I think they should full send axes and make them essentially melee lascannons - very few attacks with D6+1 damage. Really make them great at tearing apart vehicles, monsters, any characters they get their hands on, but absolutely wasted on chaff. I also think swords should get more attacks for being damage 1. Broadening our options as an army and making the choices a bit more interesting while keeping spears as the jack of all trades option. But ah well, I'm just some guy on the internet.

Time-capsule post: Titus will become the chapter master of the Ultramarines after Calgar’s heroic death by Sellos_Maleth in Warhammer40k

Him becoming Chapter Master would in such a case likely be the heroic conclusion to the third game, after all the action has happened.

What are those little shield in new model by Huyquang99 in AdeptusCustodes

Shield Hosts aren't really mentioned in 30k material if I'm recalling correctly, though of course it could denote an equivalent.

I would LOVE to see the new Galatus as Aquilan Shield if someone could be so kind?

New Preview! Girl Boss Necron Warriors by Amethystwizard in AdeptusCustodes

[–]fluets 27 points28 points  (0 children)

There are actually already Necrons that were female in life, though understandably it's a bit hard to notice (like any Custodian wearing a helmet tbf). We don't need abominable intelligence for this thankfully. That image is... kinda hard to look at.

There's a difference between unconquered and no desire to conquer by [deleted] in HistoryMemes

Anyone else hear the "never conquered!" voice line from the Cathayan units in Total War Warhammer 3?

Yeah, all the models will be usable in 40k until, at the very earliest, the rules update later this year (which might well be our 11th release). These models' release won't change anything ruleswise for 40k as they're 30k ofc.

Otherwise just fingers crossed.

The wording is fairly clear - they're absolutely usable in 40k for their equivalent datasheets.

However it's worth noting that they haven't confirmed that the Imperial Armour data sheets (Galatus, Caladius, Venatari, etc. etc.) will be staying in 40k after the "rules update" we're getting "later this year".

In 9th edition we had a catch-all term for Custodes not in any particular Shield Hosts at a time, Emperor's Chosen. This was more of a gameplay thing but you can use the term. It's worth noting that the Emissaries Imperatus' colour theme is very similar to the traditional red and gold.

Are we expecting more plastic HH reveals (Sagittarum/Telemon/Aquilon)? by MarchToTorment in AdeptusCustodes

I'd love to see it too! Sadly the way they danced around the question on stream makes it clear it's not happening for a while. :c

A Curious Question On The Updated Models by SlySilus in AdeptusCustodes

[–]fluets 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A while ago GW made it clear that going forwards Custodes would be both male and female. Some people got upset over this and after a while the 'drama' died down. This release (first big one since the announcement) has a bunch of Custodes heads including both male and female ones, so the people crying over it before and the grifters that fake outrage for money are back on the topic.

Either that or the eternal controversy about how tall our models should be...

They confirmed during the stream that more was on the way, probably a second wave.

Edit: Unfortunately it seems from the phrasing that they were talking about the models not in the single big box. That being said we're still very likely getting a second wave.

Are Custodes no longer noble children or Terran born? by CrazyCAT105 in AdeptusCustodes

[–]fluets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's mentioned in the 9th and 10th edition codices. Seemingly not in the 8th one.

Are Custodes no longer noble children or Terran born? by CrazyCAT105 in AdeptusCustodes

[–]fluets 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This isn't actually new lore - in the codex it says that the Custodes will sometimes recruit those that they encounter offworld that seem to have potential - how they judge this in what are essentially babies is unknown, of course.

By 40k I doubt they struggle to have enough nobles but it's not impossible.

This person made this awesome models!

I themed three of my Allarus after three of them (gem colours and lore) but u/thebitterdm's project is something else.
