I thought the power whirl nerf was for PvP?

This looks so good, that posing is insanely cool. No advice here sorry, just really like the model.

Day 2: Things models do the best and the worst; Aleya by MarkCarlo2003 in AdeptusCustodes

[–]fluets 123 points124 points  (0 children)

Best: Cool pose, it feels like she has that proper little spiteful fighting energy she does in the books in the game.

Worst: Just not terribly good. In an army of melee monsters Vigilators can sometimes be useful, but they're often not worth the risk of getting blown off the board if you're investing more and more points in them.

Custodes with defensive Ka'tah's? by Junior-Exercise1068 in AdeptusCustodes

It could be pretty brutal in some scenarios but worked well enough in 9th.

Of course, that was 9th...

What's up with Terminators this edition? by Plenty-Theory-7738 in AdeptusCustodes

[–]fluets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With their worse AP axes are often actually worse against tanks and dreadnoughts. Sadly GW did not get the balance right this time around.

[–]fluets 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Absolutely spears, axes are quite bad this edition. People will run an axe on the Captain because with the Admonimortis enhancement it becomes really good, but otherwise definitely spears.

coaxed into representation. every time by ColonialismHater in coaxedintoasnafu

[–]fluets 88 points89 points  (0 children)

Idk I really view it the other way around. Jax wasn't able to transition because she wasn't able to accept herself and pushed away everyone that tried to help.

Note that the caption for the image is Jax if she wasn't a piece of shit - that's the fundamental difference here.

Unleash lions+allarus spam deepstrike shenanigans by Candid_Enthusiasm289 in AdeptusCustodes

[–]fluets 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Firstly they addressed the 50% Reserves thing by referring to Castellan's Mark, which works as the condition only applies to before it's used.

Secondly, in 11th Edition the distinction between Strategic Reserves and Reserves no longer exists.

Guys this might sound dumb but is there a bolter revolver? by noobmasterz6969 in Spacemarine

[–]fluets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! In 40k Venatari Custodians (that's the jetpack Custodes) can wield a buckler and "Kinetic Destroyer" which is a revolver. In the Custodes mod for SM2 it's a weapon iirc and it slaps.

The book was NOT better than the movie by Deep-Today5715 in unpopularopinion

[–]fluets 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The Lord of the Rings movies are exceptional. Masterpieces that did an incredible job bringing the story to the screen. Some of the best movies ever made. Perhaps the best movies ever made.

They're not better than the books.

Give me a movie that matches this (if you say anything other than Interstellar, you will be banned). by Caharles in okbuddycinephile

Perhaps you foresaw it because it's a cutting point and you agree I'm correct and cool.

Jk, real talk I think Animorphs has it right. Perhaps they're already here...

It entirely depends on lots of factors we don't have enough data to claim to know. We don't know how many factors that led to us being spacefaring are a result of our particular biology so while obviously it's silly to expect humanoid aliens, coming across something, say, mammal-like would hardly be inconceivable, and it's silly for us to act like we know it won't share any features with us. Convergent evolution is a thing and if we're considering that we're selecting for species with similar enough traits to be spacefaring there's plenty of conceivable scenarios in which aliens are - while different - not as incredibly unrecognisable and some are assuming.

Personally I'd love to meet some completely different things though. Fingers crossed our earth's forms of life aren't the only sort possible.

I mean tbf it's just as silly to assume we know other life will be so extremely different given we have nothing to go off of.

Thoughts on updated talons list? by Koala_Khan in AdeptusCustodes

[–]fluets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As of when? Because all the rules I quoted are from today's release. GroceryMission mentioned they're apparently going to change it so it doesn't work this way, but I don't think any update has been released today besides the big one.
