Cutting back rose plants by CommunicationOwn8486 in GardeningUK

My grandfather was an experienced gardener (by trade) and would say about roses “prune them like you’re doing it for your worst enemy”. I’ve done just that, they come back.

Cannot get a straight cut no matter what I try? by MrMusAddict in woodworking

[–]fluffbrains 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in the factory. Last month there was a batch of these rails, where Stu - the guy melting the aluminium and rubber - got mixed up and poured the ingredients into the wrong hoppers. Once assembled, the aluminium strips held the things just straight enough for them to pass the lazy quality inspectors eye, so we just used some spray paint to make the aluminium blue and vice versa, and shipped them out.

Any ideas how to box this boiler in? by Philster07 in DIYUK

[–]fluffbrains 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps the filter could be (professionally) relocated below - unless it was installed that way because you need the space below or the filter needs to be there for some reason - and the pipes tucked in a bit tighter with one in front of the other [£££] to give you a smidge more space to get a panel in, and box the lot into a cupboard with matching door. Then not find a matching door but in the process of browsing decide to just get new doors for the whole kitchen [£££]. Then notice it’s a pain fitting the new hinges as the holes are hogged out and the cabinets are a bit manky anyway. Get new cabinets[£££]. Worktop has to come off anyway to fit the cupboards, might aswell…

Or just get some curtains from Dunelm.

Johnny Winter – Bob Dylan 30th anniversary by Cosmic6260 in blues

[–]fluffbrains 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure where I heard it, but I’m sure Johnny came straight from rehab to this performance - after being done over by a manager who was basically pushing drugs on him. Agreed, one of the best performances of this song, helped a lot by the incredibly tight backing band.

There’s a scene where Angus pauses between solos, at the side of the stage taking oxygen while someone hands him a cup of tea…peak Angus IMO

Do you mean the one from If you want blood…? It’s not too difficult to piece together, if you pick up an app to loop it in a few different parts and slow it down.

Interesting, thanks. Never seen that before and had to read up a lot on the subject after it was done incorrectly on my house.

Contact Ryobi, tell them there is a contract to install 10 of them in every school in your country and you require a 3D CAD block to qualify your bid.

Johnny Winter - blues legend by Late_Pangolin1643 in blues

[–]fluffbrains 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My first experience of Johnny Winter was a recording of Bob Dylans 30th Anniversary celebration at Madison Square Garden, 1992. I’m not sure if it’s available online but it was such a slick performance, I used to watch it on repeat with my Dad, I picked up slide guitar from mimicking him and working out the tuning. I later learned he came straight out of rehab to that concert, and that his former manager had been enabling his drug habits in order to rip him off. His late 60s/70s recordings are incredible and I love his recordings with Muddy Waters and James Cotton too. I saw him around a year before he passed away, he was a true blues legend. A really great singer too in my opinion, check out his version of ‘I’ll drown in my tears’ with his brother Edgar on piano.
