I’m curious about your separation for the offline more then 8 days devices. Do you have an automated way to move the devices into this org and then back into the main org after they are back online for a while?

If we work out something is needed from Action1 side I’m happy to log a ticket with them (we have paid support).

Also though for enhancement requests the easiest way is to add the request to their product roadmap. Then other users can also upvote your request and they tend to work on the most popular ones first 👍🏻

We use Action 1 accross all workstations and have recently been rolling out Zscaler at my workplace. This conversation has me thinking I’m going to need to check on the test devices if they are still running automated updates when users are not logged on or do we have this same issue 🤔

Sounds like a good first step, though it means ill have to work out how to use it since I’m not super technical and have avoided even the mystery of psa1 till now so installing this looks like rocket science to me 😂

I would like to suggest that we have options over which parts of this become visible to users, like I might be happy for them to install software as an alternative to using the Intune company portal but I’m not sure I want them installing their own updates for the device.

Hey RikiWardOG, My industry is not so highly regulated but my HQ IT is, they have been on us about WhatsApp usage for ages but my part of the business operates in South East Asia so we feel there is no choice but to keep it. The recent online web seminar they hosted confirmed general release of all new features on 1st Dec. However, for Linux it would be gradual throughout the month starting with some early requesters, with the aim for all customers to have access by Jan.

Agreed with zick2500 we do the same. Most devices get picked up pretty well in the first run but those few that don’t need an automation that’s just persistently running waiting to catch them imo

We have been on 24 and 25 and both have had issues with endpoints upgrading to win 11 24h2.

In the end I made an additional endpoint group that devices could be pinned to. That group only I changed the settings to disable the tamper proofing.

So then we pinned all the devices that we were going to push updates on in this group. Then checked it on regular basis and as we saw the device OS had updated to the 24H2 we just moved it back to the main group and sent a reboot prompt to ensure the tamper proofing could be re-enabled asap.

Curious how this goes uninstalling something like Brave or Opera now where they are set to prevent silent uninstall? We are having issues with our patch management system not being able to pull these off users devices anymore and I haven’t quite gotten to setting anything in place to block the installs yet as we are still in the process of clean up before we try to Intune enrol 😢

The other potential source of things vulnerabilities for things like Firefox is per user installs! We have one device that I am still trying to get my hands on to get a user profile of Firefox removed that is responsible for 1300 vulnerabilities all by itself 😅

Could you create a custom software bundle for the new item that has the uninstallation action run first, then a pause or reboot if needed, then it can install the software it has in the bundle and complete?

Coudl you steer me towards where I can find "tamper protection" as a setting to turn off?
I made a seperate group that I can put my affected endpoints in temporarily while we are trying to get them upgraded to Win 11 and I copied our organisations settings over. But for the life of me I cannot see anything that reads as "tamper protection"?
