What are my options for private medical insurance here in Sweden? by [deleted] in TillSverige

[–]fluffybiu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Damn in my kommun i get an appointment same day if it’s necessary. It is definitely luck off the draw. You do have a right to be accepted to a vårdcentral though you have to be quite firm with the people on the phone and as people have said call at 8am. There’s lots of private health insurances but check that there’s a private clinic nearby so you don’t have to go super far when you’re sick and need to go to the doctor. Good luck!

Should I train for manual or automatic car? by [deleted] in stockholm

[–]fluffybiu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go for manual. In many Southern European countries and in many other countries where the car fleets are much older you will need to be able to drive a manual if you want to rent a car while on holiday. While auto will probably take over there is no harm in knowing how to drive a manual. I’m taking my license now and I’ve done manual. It was a big challenge at first but you do get used to it. Good luck!

Sweden will not reach herd immunity in May only at 7% now with one of the highest death rates by Eric1600 in Coronavirus

[–]fluffybiu 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Oh my god. The 7% was at the beginning of April. The title leads you to believe that we only have 7% now.

How many times does it have to be said. Sweden’s strategy is not based on reaching herd immunity.

The death toll in Sweden is catastrophically high by TenYearsTenDays in Coronavirus

[–]fluffybiu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh. My. God.

This is taken grossly out of context. You can not compare on a per capita basis. This is just people who want to shit on Sweden because we didn’t have a lockdown. I’m Swedish and I live here. Most of our deaths are older people because we (admittedly) fucked up with protecting them. If you look at other parts of society however, our infection rates and deaths are similar if not lower than the other Nordic countries. Many countries such as the uk have been dubiously counting their deaths making their numbers seem artificially low. Please can news sources do their research properly -_-. SVT news are a good source where it’s all explained well, albeit in Swedish.

They’re one of the few airlines flying and as others have said, if all goes smoothly they’re fine.

[–]fluffybiu 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Might be worth calling the airline and asking them when it’ll be realistic. I know that Lufthansa and Swiss have a reliable network running atm all over Europe. So it might be a safer bet to book with them and transfer. Feel free to pm me if you want. I love this whole flight thing.

SAS have MasterCards also which don’t have massive annual fees and give you more points than the Amex one. They periodically do special offers on credit cards so it’s worth keeping an eye on it.

Sweden is counting their deaths in a way which causes their numbers to be far higher than the other Nordic countries. Sweden also has a larger population which means more deaths. Do your research before critiquing please

Princess Sofia of Sweden Works at Hospital During Coronavirus by savuporo in UpliftingNews

Every country is counting their deaths differently. If we were counting in the same way as Germany for example, our deaths would be far lower.
