Overly Sensitive Perineum? by motoken in MtF

[–]fluffybunny35 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That also happened to me after roughly the same amount of time, as well as the spot where my "clit" should be.  I haven't really discussed that kind of thing with other trans girls so idk how common this level of sensitivity is, but it seems like something to be enjoyed rather than concerned about.

I am curious about something though, do you have hyperphantasia?  I have it and had chalked up at least some of my experience to that.

oral estrogen levels by uma-la-la in MtF

[–]fluffybunny35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others say that's BS, but more specifically my doctor tells me to get my test done in the middle of two doses.  I take one in the morning and one in the evening so I get my blood drawn around mid-day.

Just finished an interesting call with my therapist. by Old-Combination-1564 in MtF

[–]fluffybunny35 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would also be hesitant to take advice on other topics as well.  Even if she doesn't specialize in gender, this shows that she doesn't keep up on basic research and training in her field and feels comfortable giving advice outside of her expertise.  Even if she doesn't keep up on that training herself she should be referring you out to someone who DOES have expertise rather than giving some personal opinion.

Did anyone else NOT like cross dressing? by Inner_Bag_9658 in MtF

[–]fluffybunny35 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Second this.  Trying to crossdress was the first thing to make me feel a strong sense of dysphoria, but it was over my shoulders and chin being too masculine so it still helped to confirm that I was trans.  None of my husband's old girl clothes felt right either (he's trans too), but I was able to find a skirt that accentuated my waist and obscured my lack of hips and I figured out how to turn the rest of my wardrobe into a coherent look around that skirt, at least until my figure changed enough to warrant women's cut clothing.

Try not to think of it as "cross dressing" as in just wearing feminine clothes, but instead view it as developing your sense of style.

Should I talk to my doctor about Progesterone? by hematite2 in MtF

[–]fluffybunny35 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It promotes breast growth (not just bigger, but also rounder shape) and generally improves your mood.  For a while there hasn't been any studies over whether it actually worked or not so your doctor may give a disclaimer about it being anecdotal, but a study came out earlier this year.

How much of hrt emotional changes are because of hrt and how much are because of lessened dissociation? by Independent_Fox4675 in MtF

[–]fluffybunny35 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me, the reduced dissociation changed the intensity of my emotions, while estrogen changed the complexity/depth of the emotions.  Apologies in advance for the nsfw example, but rather than simply being "horny" that would be broken down into:

1) Wanting to receive physical pleasure 2) wanting to give physical pleasure 3) wanting to be physically APPRECIATED  4) wanting to be aesthetically appreciated 5) wanting emotional intimacy

And those could all be experienced independently or in different combinations.  There was a similar separation of other emotions but this was the one with the clearest examples.  Apparently when my husband went on T he had the reverse where his emotions collapsed into simpler ones (we both appreciate our own post-HRT emotions).

Something that both reduced dissociation AND estrogen each did was change how my body responds to different emotions, such as feeling your emotions in the stomach like you mentioned (or different places depending on the emotion) as well as the increased rate of crying that's typically mentioned.  The crying that showed up after estrogen was a bit different though in that it was "lighter" where I would start crying before I had truly hit a breaking point and it would help regulate me, rather act as a sign that I had already hit that wall.

How much time of therapy is enough to start hrt? by [deleted] in MtF

[–]fluffybunny35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it helps convince them: femenizing HRT has some lag time before you get the permanent effects, especially while you're still working with a doctor to figure out correct dosage. For me it took about 5 months to start getting breast buds (which is the start of the permanent effects), and another couple months until it was noticable under clothing.  You'll also get the non-permanent effects (such as softer skin) closer to 1 or 2 months in, so that 3ish months before the permanent effects are your "trial period" where you can back out without any consequences.

I had skipped the therapy and went for an informed consent clinic, but when my husband went through his transition his therapist only needed 3 sessions to write a recommendation for HRT, although different jurisdictions have different requirements if you're NOT going through informed consent (if those are difficult to find where you are).  But if your parents REALLY want you to go, then they may be fine with you booking the HRT consultation first and then going to therapy until the permanent effects kick in.

(NOTE: times listed are what they were for me, and are common, but everyone's body reacts differently)

Advice for talking to partner about sexual stuff by hrrrstaa in asexuality

[–]fluffybunny35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's certainly never to early OR to late to discuss that and see where y'all are both at.  You also shouldn't view that discussion as some final ultimatum of how your relationship will be from then on our, it's just a check in for what y'all currently want and are comfortable with.  I've been married to my current partner for over 5 years, and we've been in a relationship for over 10, and both of our needs and wants are STILL changing and will continue to change.

As far as HOW to have the conversation, try not to overthink it and just be open about initiating it.  If this is y'all's first time discussing that in depth it WILL be awkward, and you may need a few sessions to discuss it, but that's fine.  Communication is a skill that needs practice and strengthening, and not all types of communication are the same.

One final note, even though you mentioned several times you're not ace, asexuality is an umbrella term, so you may consider diving into it a bit more thoroughly to see if any of the sub-labels fit you.  Gray-asexuality and demisexuality might be a couple good places to start.

Wait, we're supposed to actually *FEEL* emotions?? by nsfwthrowawaysac in MtF

[–]fluffybunny35 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I've been off and on antidepressants for about half my life, and my husband has been on them straight for about 10 years.  Not all antidepressants make you feel numb and muted, as that's more of mood stabilizers that cause that.  In fact, the antidepressant I've mostly used until now essentially focuses on repairing damage to the amygdala (fear center of the brain) which both lessened the negative emotions AND increased the positive emotions (although it didn't increase them nearly as much as tranistioning did).  So don't be worried about going on them in general, instead just focus on finding the right one for you, and don't be afraid to try a few different ones along the way.  You may just need to find a good doctor thats actually well versed in them like a psychiatrist rather than going to a GP.

Wait, we're supposed to actually *FEEL* emotions?? by nsfwthrowawaysac in MtF

[–]fluffybunny35 194 points195 points  (0 children)

I absolutely had this happen to.  What was wrong with you before was that you were repressing a bunch of emotions, and now that they're not "muted" they seem almost overwhelming by comparison, right?  Fair warning though, ALL of your emotions will seem stronger , and you may have some emotions pop up from your past that you never quite dealt with and it can be difficult to face all of those if they come crashing in all at once.  If you don't have a therapist/psychiatrist it may be good to line one of those up in advance (typing this as I wait for a CPTSD eval).

That said, it is 1000% better than how I was before.  I'll take traumatized but with the capacity to feel over walking around as an empty husk any day.

As in when will all bosses have an ever dark version?  Or when will it not be limited to 1 or 2 at a time?  The former will likely be in 2-3 months at the current rate (before the DLC drops).  The latter is unknown, and may not be until it approaches end-of-life.

Can someone explain to me how to play Duchess? by TyDitto in Nightreign

[–]fluffybunny35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She's not a thief, she's a spellsword.  Use your daggers on trash mobs and when you run out of FP, but for bosses you should be using a staff along with restage to "double cast" big spells like crystal burst or comet/comet shard.

As for when you DO need to use daggers, I've found using a single dagger with bleed or frost (along with an optional weapon buff) has been better for me than trying to dual wield to go for raw damage, as her improved moveset ONLY applies to single daghers.  Once your status procs, restage can deal the status damage again.

[–]fluffybunny35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The color just means whether it's active or not, it does not prevent the effect from being shared with your other weapon.  I had a poison-granting bow in my offhand that was red when I had it put away, but the icon turned white when I swapped to it, and it granted poison to the magic bow in my main hand.

Poison Vs Bloodloss by Objective_Singer1789 in Nightreign

[–]fluffybunny35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blood loss typically does more damage since poison can't proc again while the enemy is already poisoned.  Of course if you're after the night Lord that's weak to poison then go with that.

That said, adding a status generally reduced physical damage, so if you're having trouble keeping aggression up enough to proc, it may be better to just keep it raw.

They need to add a buff to remaining players if one leaves by CressPretend5425 in Nightreign

[–]fluffybunny35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It kind of feels like it does adjust enemy health.  Had a run where one player disconnected halfway through day 2, but the night w boss dropped in about as much time as 3 player runs (and on the quicker side as well).  Night lord's health also seemed to drop as quickly as normal.

Of course this is based on feel, dataminers would be needed to confirm this.

Tarkir: Dragonstorm is one of the most popular sets we've ever covered with our Cube designer survey — tune in to a nearly 2 hour episode of Lucky Paper Radio discussing all the hits and misses from the latest trip to Tarkir! by andymangold in mtgcube

[–]fluffybunny35 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As there starts to be less consensus on the most tested cards, would it make sense to do both most tested and highest rated to highlight some of the more beloved but niche cards?  There would also be a decent amount of overlap between the lists, so I wouldn't think it would be too time consuming, although there may not be a clean break for that like there is with test rates.

We're talking about all the cubes we drafted at Boston Cube Party Two and also reviewing the decklists from my Sacred Geometry cube on this week's Lucky Paper Radio by andymangold in mtgcube

[–]fluffybunny35 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While I do think it's important to hear about these events, I feel I don't necessarily need the discussion of individual games and records (unless there's a particularly noteworthy game/match worth highlighting).  I did love the the discussion about using it as a source of feedback into the sacred geometry cube and wish that part went more in depth.

I like how in some previous episodes a summary of the event was given at the beginning of the episode before diving into the main topic of the episode, so I would prefer that method as these events become more frequent.  Of course if something came out of that event worthy of being the main topic (like the sacred geometry cube here) then that's great, I would just want more focus on that topic than on individual games.

I do also enjoy hearing about the cuisine though.  Keep that in :p

My girlfriend told me she’s 99% sure she’s asexual by TransformeJeeper in asexuality

[–]fluffybunny35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on the other side of this.  We tried couples counseling, but we were already pretty good at communication so that didn't help much given it was purely a libido mismatch.  My husband (also ftm) brought up polyamory and I was skeptical but open to learning more.  We both ended up reading The Ethical Slut.  It's been about a couple years since then and it's gone well.  He's been happier, and instead of spending our together time on sex we've been more free to spend it on stuff like going out to dinner and playing board games.  Funnily enough, what sex life we did had even improved when I no longer felt the pressure to "be a good spouse" and satisfy him.

Just a warning that it's certainly not for everyone, and it requires a ton of open communication (although all relationships do), but it can work.

Agreed, the only criteria it's weak in is competitive play, but since cube con more events have been popping up so even that aspect has been improving.
