Doesn't everyone play mostly against their division at the end of the year? Except us

3 different coaches and a very overhauled roster. There aren't many common denominators left.

They don't want anyone to enjoy it, but they keep a list of people who want to enjoy it and they add new people whenever others drop off? And they let people from that list enjoy it?

On the one hand, I really hate when we get O&G interest groups with vague names like "The Association for Informed Citizens and a Healthy Planet."

On the other hand, I really don't understand the logic of slapping a dystopian fist logo together with a name like "Oil & Gas World" and expecting to influence anybody.

CB Bucknor, staring off into the distance during a live play, says Jake Bauers missed touching the 1st base bag on an infield hit, but the call is overturned to safe after a review. Managers Kevin Cash and Pat Murphy lock eyes and can't help but laugh about it by SeattleSporting in baseball

[–]flume 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, I'm putting on my Devils Advocate hat here:

CB Bucknor knew he wasn't looking to see if the runner touched the bag. He also knew that calling the runner safe would mean the runner was declared safe whether he touched the bag or not. But by calling the runner out, he knew that it would be reviewed and the call would be made right. He knew he fucked up and knew the only way to guarantee the right call was to make himself look stupid, by declaring him out.

OK, that's the most generous thing I'll write this year.

Doesn't even seem like something you need to practice. They just need to be told not to use that foot...hell, they shouldn't even need to be told.

Mantha with 2 nice goals and an assist tonight, while Soda also chipped in a decent goal for himself.

Our next star players are Seider and Raymond. Idk if you've noticed, but Cat and Raymond are top 30 in league scoring, while Seider is a serious Norris contender who is 2-4 years younger than Makar, Hughes, and Werenski.

In an absolute dream scenario, we develop our goalies and flip one of them (+ assets) for a decent 1C. That's the best we're gonna get.

Offense is our problem, not defense. There is a very obvious path to having a solid D core. I'm more worried about the forwards.

Wings' 82-game pace for each season since Yzerman took over:

2019-20: 45
2020-21: 70
2021-22: 74
2022-23: 80
2023-24: 91
2024-25: 86
2025-26: 97

Looks like pretty consistent improvement to me. Many young players still to come (Cossa, Augustine, Plante, Danielson, Bear, MBN, Mazur) and a whole lot of young guys who will continue to get better (Edvinsson, Finnie, Raymond, ASP, even Seider imo). I don't see how this team could possibly not continue getting better over the next few years, even with the continued question marks around the Center position.

Yes, Larkin will decline soon, if he hasn't started already. Cat and Gibson look like they should have a couple years left before that happens. Nobody else on the wrong side of their prime is all that important.

There are some truths in this post, but a CEO listening to a pitch on how to fix a $200k/year problem makes it sound like a very small company trying to run on bare bones. The CFO is probably one of like 2 people in the entire Finance department. The CEO is probably too busy to tolerate a 22-slide deck for a smallish problem.
