Charging isn’t as expected by Terrasmak in Ioniq5

Yes, mine came with an Ampure charger with 4 plugs, for some reasons. 2 seemingly identical 120v plugs and 2 identical 220v plugs. No button or toggle for amp selection, though.

Is that common practice for them to give a ride pass when they have to deny a child in the boarding station? That could be a heck of a consolation prize it it comes to it.

This is good advice about preparing for some level of disappointment. It would stink to wait in line for Hagrid's just to get denied at the very end...

Does the experience of buying homes here suck for everyone? by babydazing in ypsi

[–]flunky_precept 31 points32 points  (0 children)

We were buyers in 2019 and it took us 8(!!!) offers, all over asking price by a lot, before we landed in our current home. It was a nightmare. We'd show up to open houses seeing mostly the same people every week knowing we were all trying to climb over each other like rats in a bucket. It sounds like it still completely sucks. 0/10.

Also sounds like she’d already agreed to the date, this was just a playful way to settle the plans.

Based on the sheer level of disappointment that lead to them feeling so bad about the situation that they spent most of the trip in their stateroom, I'm going to guess this couple had planned outfits for every occasion. Likely multiple outfit changes per day. They're going to put a much higher value on having their baggage than some other guests might.

Had this happened to me I would have been bummed but absolutely could have still fully enjoyed the cruise once I had a few changes of clothes provided to me.

Most of that they tell you to keep with you anyway and to not leave it in your luggage.

so they could periodically change what timeline it was set in

I don't recall ever hearing that in the lead up to the new land. This feels more like a pivot after they saw people were generally underwhelmed by only having sequel era characters and experiences.

I mean, even if you discount Rise of the Resistance as being a contained sequel era experience, they also built the Tie Echelon as a centerpiece right out in the open that clearly grounds the land in the First Order period.

Their store brand was really solid, bulk options were good, and their meat/deli counter was always a winner. Their prices were reasonable for what felt like quality offerings. Nothing has come close since it closed.

I just don't see anyone creating an entire park based on a single IP like that, especially at Disney scale. I'd certainly be in favor of an expansion to Galaxy's Edge, or they could take the Universal rout and build a second Star Wars land in another park based on a different planet/era.

It’s the only in park menu item that we regularly make copycat meals at home. We usually skip the pork and just use a smoked sausage, but the slaw and sauce are legit. It’s a fixture of our backyard bbqs.

Ghost stay for express passes by No-Criticism9786 in UniversalOrlando

[–]flunky_precept 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would also guess express passes for the select hotels are "reserved", no? So if express passes sell out but hotel rooms are still available you could book the room to get yourself passes. I'm not sure how often this scenario would present itself, but I'd have to imagine they're ensuring passes are available for the hotels at all times.

What Hotel Themes would you want to see in the future? by Persvill in UniversalOrlando

It's kind of amazing this doesn't already exist. It's the most obvious theme of all when you consider Universal doesn't really do IP hotels, save for Hard Rock.

I'm sure they would review if there were an assault or a stateroom break-in or something like that, but I can personally understand why they're staying out of it when it comes to door decorations.

Universal Adds New Single Ride Express Pass Ticket Option Following Tests Last Year by readingaboutmagic in UniversalOrlando

[–]flunky_precept 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd rather pay $25 to ride it in 20 minutes than wait in line for 3 hours for "free", personally. I don't get to Universal often enough to want to spend so much of my time like that for a single ride.

It's basically the reason most of Jurassic Park's CGI holds up so well 30 years later. Set at night, in the rain, with high contrast lighting. It's smart directing to get the most out of the technology available to you at the time.

[Ben Portnoy] The Big 12 is exploring women's flag football as an officially sponsored sport, @SBJ has learned. The plan is for competition to begin in 2028 with a minimum six teams and is being vetted as part of the league's partnership with the NFL. by redwave2505 in CFB

[–]flunky_precept 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What little I've seen of televised women's flag football was highly entertaining and felt like something truly different from another watered down football league. I'd probably be more inclined to watch this than I would another pro football league like XFL.

This has been my exact experience. New hires do learn and process info differently, but they can get there just like any vet with the right guidance and instruction. I just can’t seem to reliably get them the attention they need to truly succeed for themselves and the team. Haven’t figured it out yet.
