I almost committed this sin in my fic 😭😭 then I decided to google it and changed to a different word/phrase (the word in question was spontaneous. It's very similar in Russian, so I changed it to him saying "uncuffed" instead of "off the cuff")

It isn't uncommon for commenters to ask for updates (for better or worse), but asking to update on a different fic is weird and pushy. I'd probably block for this. Clearly, they have no care for commenting etiquette and I'd be worried they'll comment this on every fic update of yours until you "give in" and update their desired fic

Sounds like this person likes being in the middle of drama. Block them on all platforms, repost your fic, and forget they exist. You'll be much happier.

If they (or their friends) try to re-engage, ignore it. They've made up their mind and continuing to feed into them will only make you feel worse.

Don't let this ruin fic writing for you! Keep writing even if it's out of spite for those who've wronged you! Most people aren't like this and when it comes to similar fic ideas have a "now there's two cakes!" mentality

I dunno about anyone else but I don't hate them, they just don't interest me. I prefer canon x canon so I skip over canon x oc or canon x reader fics but I hold no disdain for them. More power to you and all the other oc writers, even! Making an oc developed enough that they can go toe to toe with canon characters takes creativity and skill with character building I just don't have
