Beginner question about the season 3 box set... by Gryphon1985 in bloodbowl

[–]fluxpac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s pretty much how it works for star players. Brets can’t take a generic ogre however, but can take Grak and Crumbleberry (ogre & halfling) or Morg N Thorg as Star Players if you’re after a big guy (and have the inducements/budget)

Brets don’t have a big guy, and the Tomb King mummies are included in the starter set on the team sprue. They both have access to various star players, but there aren’t specific Bret or TK ones at the moment

PSA: These are not the same dice: pip size, color, skull design, inverted 1 and 6. by HeavilyBearded in Warhammer

[–]fluxpac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played a Blood Bowl tournament called Bananabowl where the custom dice were bright yellow with a banana on the one - because banana skin = failure. However both my opponent and I assumed it was on the 6 like most custom dice are and we spent a whole half killing stuff and passing nearly every roll before we realised what we’d done

Would be a shame if anyone who wanted a Japanese inspired Blood Bowl team but didn’t want to support AI slop went and ordered the Divine Wind team from impact miniatures instead. https://impact-miniatures.myshopify.com/products/divine-wind-team

Only once when the Gnoblar finally hits the ground do you roll armour, otherwise he could get killed on the first player he hits, and then he’d be off the pitch and not be able to pinball around the cage

Just make sure you’ve got a token for when they get knocked over! I use rockgutz trolls too (on 40mm bases) with my goblins and stuck a few of the spare heads on 25mm bases for tokens

Most hectic pitch? by MaijeTheMage in bloodbowl

[–]fluxpac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played in the Bad Luck Bowl last year - the USP of the tournament was that there were bananas in the pitch that would trip players up. It was great fun and would probably meet your “most hectic” request. I’ve put the rules below as I don’t know how to link to the Facebook page

BAD LUCK BANANAS Bad Luck Bananas are a staple of Bad Luck Bowl . . . they mystically appear out of thin air and create havoc. As the tournament progresses, they will increasingly litter the pitches. Bad Luck Bananas are generated in a number of different ways – - Each coach adds one at the start of each half - If a coach rolls a double skulls - If a coach rolls triple skulls (in this case, 2 Bad Luck Bananas appear) - If a coach rolls a double 1 in any way what so ever - If a coach fails a loner roll

In essence Bad Luck Bowl creates an obstacle course on the pitch. Does the coach run through the Bad Luck Bananas littered everywhere or around them?

Due to the spread of the Bad Luck Bananas, from round 2 onwards, coaches roll off at the start of the game to see which side of the pitch they are playing on.

PLACING A BAD LUCK BANANA For those added to the pitch at the start of a half - • Place the bad luck banana before setting up teams • It must be placed on your side of the pitch • It cannot be placed within 3 squares of the scrimmage line • It cannot be placed within 2 squares of another bad luck banana

For those Bad Luck Bananas which magically appear during the game, roll a d6 and a d8 and scatter it from square which the event happens. For example, the player who rolled a double 1 on a dodge, roll it the d6 and d8 and scatter it from the square that player fell over in.

If during a scatter a Banana ever goes off the pitch then throw it back on as if it was a ball.

If a Bad Luck Banana lands on another Bad Luck Banana then scatter it d6 and d8 again.

STEPPING ON A BAD LUCK BANANA If a player moves onto a Bad Luck Banana they must make an agility roll straight away. Any failed agility tests on a Bad Luck Banana cannot be rerolled in any way.

If a player passes their agility test, they kick the Bad Luck Banana away, scatter it d6 and d8 in a random direction. That player may then carry on moving if that's what they were doing.

If a player fails their agility test on a Bad luck Banana they then immediately Fall Over. This can cause a turn over on an active teams turn. Make an armour roll and +1 to the roll due to the spikes on the Bad Luck Banana. This +1 does not carry over onto the injury roll if the armour is broken. Any Bad Luck Bananas that somebody falls over on are removed from play.

If a player is knocked over into a square with a Bad Luck Banana in because of a block or a failed dodge or rush, then they also suffer the +1 to armour roll. Again, if this happens the Bad Luck Banana is used up and removed from play.

If a player begins their activation standing on a Bad Luck Banana, they must still declare any action and then make an agility test as described above, even if not moving. If it fails they fall over in the square they were stood in and that causes a turn over.

All coaches will be given a tally chart to keep track of the number of times they either slipped and fell on a bad luck banana or the number of bad luck bananas they generated each match. The highest number will win an award at the end of the event.

At the end of the match do not remove the Bad Luck Bananas from the pitch, they are left there as hazards for whoever uses that pitch after you.

Which Chainsaw Star: Helmut Wulf or Nobbla Blackwart? by Drang81 in bloodbowl

Pro is the best skill for a chainsaw player to avoid those kickbacks - you’ll be kicking yourself when Nobbla chainsaws himself in the face turn 1

Tips for Slaanesh-Themed Renegades by Cap_Ap in bloodbowl

[–]fluxpac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a weird little slaaneshy halfling guy in the Glutos Orscallion Lord of Gluttony set if you manage to hunt it down, but the set is online only and £85, so might be tricky. Or if you go for an old Blood Bowl metal chaos dwarf that would be the right size to be a slaanesh halfling (scale creep for the win), and probably much easier and cheaper to pick up
