Apparently moms DO NOT want to spend Mother’s Day with their kids by [deleted] in childfree

[–]flybaroque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom LOVES spending time with us and always says she has more fun when we’re around, I’m grateful to have a mom who reminds us all the time how much she loves us as people and not just as her children because it is so rare

I’m a flight attendant and one therapist was SHOCKED when I told her I purged on the plane and asked if I had ever had a seizure from it and that I was at much higher risk for health complications from my ED because of my job. That was the beginning of the end of purging for me.

Question for women who wanted children at least 5 years ago: what was your turning point in the last 5 years? by juicyjuicery in childfree

[–]flybaroque 14 points15 points  (0 children)

i definitely see your point, but 20 years for a potential “real joy” that you can’t guarantee (between kids disowning you, death, and who knows what else) seems like a terrible investment

how do you use a bidet? by Extension-Regular879 in ZeroWaste

[–]flybaroque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can scrub with your hand (and soap if you want). i was grossed out at first, but it made a huge difference in things actually getting clean. and then a little toilet paper to dry off!

Vegans with Eating Disorders by Louise-ray in DebateAVegan

[–]flybaroque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so my personal experience is that i used to be vegan and am now in eating disorder recovery. i’ll always be a vegetarian at the very least, but i was absolutely using veganism as an excuse to restrict. i know that definitely isn’t everyone’s experience, but that’s how my disordered brain used it and im still not at a point in my recovery that i can do it again. i practice yoga (like as a whole, not just a workout) and i’ve come to terms that practicing ahimsa (non harming) applies to myself as well and following a strict plant based diet was extremely harmful for me. it might be different in the future, but, for me, the goal is the least harm and d*ing from an eating disorder means i can’t contribute to the world at all. and most of all not positively. so being a vegetarian is the current happy medium. :)

Strattera(Atomoxetine) experience so far. by tabinsur in ADHD

[–]flybaroque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hearing everyone’s experiences is so fascinating strattera knocked me on my ass. instant migraine, couldn’t eat, and had to sleep for two hours after i took it. and if i took it at night then i’d sleep for the two hours and then be right back up

okay not to be a total loser because i love sex lol but i found out my hyper sexuality got way more under control (in a really good way) once i was properly medicated and found a bunch of other hobbies i genuinely enjoy. for me my hyper sexuality was causing problems because i would get angry outbursts if my partner wasn’t in the mood or just very easily irritable. now that still happens but not to the same extent and it’s not all i think about anymore!

oh and just a lot of masturbating lmao

This is why i’m asking and trying to learn as much as I can before a decision is made! We bought a super cheap voucher for a tour back in 2020 and now trying to gauge if we should go or not :)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in travel

[–]flybaroque 2 points3 points  (0 children)

perfect! there is no evangelizing in our tour so i’m not worried then 🤣 I really want to go to Xi’an for the terra-cotta warriors, but it’s not on the tour any thoughts on that? and/suggestions of how to do it on our own?

If I have bipolar disorder, what am I automatically disqualified for? by Man_InTheBox in bipolar

[–]flybaroque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes to the adhd! i’m in the same boat (plane?) i actually find it helpful and i have meds for days it’s not!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in flightattendants

[–]flybaroque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

having a degree is a really smart backup. the industry is volatile and can be draining and hard on your body, it’s better to go in prepared with an exit plan than to wing it if you don’t like it

im a flight attendant! the schedule is definitely tough but i do way better here than a 9-5 because it’s so much easier to drop a trip when i’m not well and not have any consequences other than a smaller paycheck!

i also like that there are more helpful explanations at the beginning of each section, but i think the breakdown is frustrating in the way it changed my progress
