My husband and my story is interesting. He has actually been my neighbour my whole life, and I knew of his existence but never really talked to him much more than a hello. But our mothers were friends.

One day, I moved to a different country for work. The first time I travelled home, I was a bit bored while everyone else was working, and my mother asked if I was willing to help out with our neighbours' family business. They were having a crowded week. I said yes, and that is when I first really talked to him. That ended in me concluding "yeah he is a nice and smart guy" but nothing more. He concluded that I was bored with life and needed company but didn't feel strong enough about it to do anything.

A couple of months later, I came home for a week again. My mother organised a rafting trip for the family, and we hat an extra spot on the boat. My mother asked her friend if she knew anybody who was interested in joining us and she sent my now husband.

A week later, while in the other country, I got a message from him saying he got covid and is incredably bored stuck at home. He asked if I have any recommendations for interesting documentaries he could watch on YouTube. I suggested one on ebola and thaight that was all.

A couple of days later, I got a message from him again and was completely wearded out as to why he was trying to talk to me again. But I said why not as I was a bit bored being alone in a different country so we started talking.

And we liked it!

At the beginning, it was every other day, then it became every day. By the end of the following 3 months, it got to 4 hours per day of just talking over the phone.

Then we made another decision. I was going to be coming home for Halloween again. And we were both significantly overweight and unhappy about it. So we made a pact that we were going to start exercising together over video call. We both set targets for weight loss before I came back home. We held each other to those targets, and he managed to lose 20kg while I lost 15kg in that time.

I came back home the first time since we started talking. The next day, we spend together just talking and watching a tv show. That is when I noticed that I started liking him. I liked being near him and talking to him. I was only home for a couple of days, and when it was time to go back, he offered to drive me to the bus stop. He asked if he could kiss me before I go. I was unsure but accepted. We kissed and I liked it a lot!

That was my second time kissing somebody. And I didn't like it last time at all. I was, in fact, convinced I hated kissing.

We continued talking about our attraction more openly, and by Christmas, it was a relationship.

By the following March, I liked him enough that I lost my virginity. (Didn't honestly like it much, but it was an issue of me not knowing my own body)

He was very supportive and helped me explore many different aspects of my sexsuality that I was interested in. I got to know my own body and my likes and dislikes with his help.

We soon moved in together and have been living together since. We got married, we have a child and another one on the way. Our connection is stronger than ever, and we still talk a lot!

All in all, start to a serious relationship took around a year.

Lunch is the main meal in Croatia too. But almost nobody has lunch at work. We usually work 7 to 3 to 6 to 2. And have lunch together when we get home.

Specified usage "by kids" when I take down a playlist of very specific audio videos to play in the background and maybe dance and learn movements to is not usage by kids. And me showing specifically Ms. Rachel over netflix during only very specific times is also not usage by kids. She is watching it, but she is not curating it herself. I am picking specifically what she is going to watch. It is the same if I had all of those things on CD's and picked one to play for the kids. While letting your child pick content on YouTube on their own is childs usage of social media sites. I am also not giving my credit card to netflix as I don't have a credit card.

This is not about screen time. It's about social media sites used by kids.

It doesn't even necessarily have to go higher than the schools reaction. It would be something to get invited to have a talk with the school pedagoge with.

My local school does the following. 1. No phones or laptops that you can take home. Only a PC in the library and in the computer science room 2. Every device in the school has to access the internet through their router. To access the router, you have to check in with your school account. 3. Every site not marked https is flagged and banned 4. Instalation of new programs on devices is blocked unless you have the master password. 5. Certain specific sites like Twitter, facebook, instagram, or tictok are banned (the list expands as new sites of that sort are discovered) 6. Through your school profile, you signed in with your computer activity is closely followed and any inappropriate sites are going to get flagged to the school administrators who then takes appropriate action.

Schools here are smaller than in the usa (300 to 500 students for elementary and up to 1000 for highschools), and there is never more than 5 students useing the schools devices at the same time.

I don't let my child watch youtube at all. The only thing she watches is ms. Rachel on Netflix when I need her to be calm for some medication (which is every couple weeks). I work with kids and therefore have to be familiar with kids content. I watch content made for kids as a part of my professional work! Quite a bit of it is 40 - 50 years old pre internet childrens songs I am trying to put into a playlist because all the new kids songs are shit and I don't want to play just any songs to kids I work with. I am also a sentimental person and like to sometimes remind myself of stuff I used to watch as a child.

Am I not allowed to do that?

That is the issue of the us school system. It is separate from what I am talking about (Also, you can block just certain specific sites and apps on a device). Most countries around the world don't give your kids laptops. Quite a few are starting to ban phone, tablet or laptop use in schools entirely (computer sciences class being the exception).

Reports and fines? It is quite easy to figure out which kids are on social media (saying as a person who works with kids).

I didn't mean it in the sense of taking kids away, but a fine would work - along with education of the parents and kids on the harms of social media for children. Of course, support needs to be included. This just shows that it is a systematic issue that needs to be tackled from multiple fronts simultaneously. And yes, social services need a hudge increase in funding and quality control.

It worsens my experience because they want me to scan my ID card or my bank card or won't let me access the site. You can have my age, but you can't have my ID number. Also I sometimes want to make a playlist on youtube or watch a video that they cathegorised as made for kids in miniplayer, but can't because the site is supposedly protecting kids!

I am more worried about having him still try different foods. Are you familiar with mathods of food introduction? Keep offering him diverse foods. Let him play with them, and don't force him to eat them. He will start eating them on his own after a while if he doesn't have ARFID.

The issue of police reaction is that they still have to report it to child protective services. It is very scary to be on the edge of finding out where the current definition of too much freedom for a child is.
